Vitacost: $10 Credit + FREE Shipping on $25 Orders (today only!)

Thursday, May 10th, 2012

I’ve posted before about how Vitacost is offering a $10 credit to new customers.  Today only (5/10/12), Vitacost is also offering free shipping on orders $25 and over. Combine these two offers and you can get some great deals on Mrs. Meyers cleaning supplies, Bob’s Red Mill products, Cliff bars and more.

Here’s what I’m getting ready to order:

I’ve been wanting to try coconut oil for a long time and from what I know, this is a great price.  And I guess chia seeds are the new rage…full of fiber and omega-3 they are supposed to be super healthy.  I’ve been watching for a deal on them and plan to add them to our smoothies and possibly granola too.

Coupon Myth #2: There Aren’t Coupons for Organic Items

Wednesday, March 7th, 2012

As more and more people are switching over to eating organic foods, I frequently hear the complaint that there are no coupons for organic products.  In fact, I know of several people that stopped using coupons all together because they switched to organic and were convinced that coupons were only for non-organic foods.

The thing is, the idea that coupons are only for non-organic items is so no true!  With the increased popularity of all things organic, we’re also seeing an increase in the amount of coupons being offered for organic products too.  And since buying organic can quickly get expensive, you really should be using coupons to save what you can.  Look at this way.  If you are struggling to justify the cost of organic, every dollar you save in coupons will free up more money to buy other organic products.

Here are a few coupons available right now at Coupons.com (using zip code 30303):

  • $1 Newman’s Own Thin & Crispy Pizza
  • $1 Rustic Crust All Natural Pizza Crust (available at Walmart in the pasta aisle)
  • $1 Bob’s Red Mill Extra Thick Rolled Oats

In addition, you can print coupons or sign up for them on these manufacturer’s and specialized websites.  Here are some links to get you started:

And while this isn’t exactly using coupons, you can also save by watching for offers from places like Daily Deal sites (think Groupon, Living Social), Amazon and Vitacost.  Sometimes you can actually get better deals at these places than you could by using coupons.

Do you use coupons to buy organic?  What are your favorite places to find them?

Amazon Deals

Friday, February 17th, 2012

If you don’t have time to shop drugstore deals with coupons then Amazon deals are a great alternative.  In fact, sometimes Amazon sale prices even beat the drugstore sale prices.  And the awesome thing is, you can shop from your own home and even use your Swagbucks to pay for your Amazon purchase!

Here’s a list of current Amazon deals.  Keep in mind that Amazon prices can change at any time so I can’t guarantee how long these prices will be valid.  Also, remember that you can cancel your Subscribe & Save order at any time.  With the Subscribe & Save option, unless you cancel the subscription, you will continue to get that order regularly.  So if you only want to get an item one time, AFTER the order arrives, simply go to “My Account” then “Subscriptions” to cancel your Subscribe & Save subscription.  (It works best for me to do this as soon as the order arrives that way I don’t forget!)* Amazon has Pampers ThickCare Touch of Chamomile Wipes 7x Box 504 Count on sale for $13.29 with Subscribe & Save.  That makes each wipe just a bit less than $0.03/piece.

* If you use lots of olive oil then this is a great deal for you.  Get Zoe Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 1 Liter Tins (Pack of 2) for only $18.17 with Subscribe & Save.  That makes each tin only $9.08 each.  One liter is approx. 33 ounces.   Also these dark tins will not allow light in which helps keep the olive oil from getting rancid.* Here is an awesome price on Lansinoh HPA Lanolin for Breastfeeding Mothers, 40 Grams.  Right now it is on sale for only $7.59 with Subscribe & Save- that is $1.98 less than Amazon’s usual discount price and several dollars less than you will pay in stores.

* First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test, 3 tests are currently $12.33 with Subscribe & Save.  Not a bad price for having them shipped to your door!
