Monthly Spending Summary (Feb.)

If you want to see exactly what I purchased, check the posts under My Deals for more details.

Ah, it was good to be so far under budget for the month.  I started the year out badly by being way over budget in January and I really wanted to get back on track this month.  I like to try to be under budget by quite a bit the first part of the year because from June to September I usually go over my monthly budget amount because I am buying fruits and veggies to can and freeze.  So if I can get ahead the first several months of the year it really helps me out then.

I had some major saving thanks to gas rewards at Giant grocery this month and that helped a lot.  The other thing that gave me a boost was the fact that we had 12 meals brought to us by our church family over the first several weeks after Adelyne’s birth.  I used very little food that I bought over those weeks thanks to the generosity of our sweet friends.  We enjoyed delicious meals, many of which were big enough to give us a second meal.  It was wonderful!  And I was reminded again of what a blessing meals are to families with new babies.
