Weekly Spending Summary (2/9-2/15)
Some of you have wondered where I get my printable coupons. Here are the main coupon sites that I use: Coupons.com, Coupon Network, Smart Source, Red Plum, Ibotta, Hopster, Checkout 51 and Saving Star. Manufacturer websites and Facebook pages are another great source.
Well, with baby’s arrival, I didn’t do much shopping at all this week. In fact, I wouldn’t have even done this Aldi trip except that we needed milk badly and so I had to go somewhere for that. As you regular readers know, we usually get milk from a local farm. My husband typically stops and picks it up on his way home from work since the dairy is located over that direction. But he’s been taking off work to get some studying done for college and therefore hasn’t gotten us our good, raw milk. So I’m having to settle for store bought milk- and the higher price that it costs too!
Total Spent: -$77.10
(yes, this is a negative number…see the credit section below for details)
If I had been on top of things I could have got $0.50 back via Checkout 51 for purchasing the milk. But I forgot about it and by the time I remembered my receipt was past the “due date” for submitting it.
- Bananas $0.44/lb.
- Onions 3 lb. $0.89
- Salmon $2.69
- Sour Cream $1.29
- Tissue $1.19
- Gala Apples 3 lb $1.99
- Brown Sugar $1.19
- 2% Milk $4.10
- Whole Milk $4.26
The last number of weeks I’ve been buying various items that are part of the Giant gas deals. Basically, you get points for purchasing the products and then you can redeem those points for gas. I was able to get $96 worth of gas for free as a result. And since I only buy the grocery items that are part of these deals because they either get me free gas or make me money I put the savings back into my grocery budget. (To see the details of these purchases look at my previous Giant purchases under my Weekly Spending Summaries.)
