Tasty Tuesday: Easy Fruit Smoothie
Blueberry/Peach Smoothie- one of our favorites!
I discovered this simple recipe a couple of years ago when my mother-in-law made it for us. The moment I tasted it I was sold! I know, that sounds dramatic, but maybe this will help you understand. I am an ice cream lover and usually go crazy over shakes and ice cream faster than I do smoothies. But these smoothies are so good that I frequently vote for them over ice cream!
Easy to make, delightfully refreshing and healthy ta-boot, what more could you want?
Easy Fruit Smoothie
1 qt. frozen fruit
1 c. yogurt, plain or flavored**
1 c. milk
Sweeten to taste
Any add-in such as chia seeds, flax seeds, wheat germ (optional)
Blend in blender on high until smooth.
Yields: 4 (8 oz.) glasses
** Make this inexpensively using your own homemade yogurt.

Sounds good! I’ll have to try these.
Have you sweetened with Stevia? Just wondering about using liquid stevia to sweeten….

Rachel, I’d love to know what you think if you try them. I have not started using Stevia, although I would like to, so I don’t have any experience with it. But from what I know I’m guessing you could easily use it for this. I often don’t have to sweeten it very much though and since Stevia is so concentrated you’d probably only need a smidgen.
For whatever it is worth, I have used raw sugar often for both my yogurt and these smoothies.

These sound delicious! We make a similar smoothie using strawberries, peaches, bananas, and milk. I think we would love the flavor of this (banana-less) smoothie.

Judy, I’d love to know what you think. I know a lot of smoothie recipes take bananas and I’m strange and don’t really like them so this recipe is perfect for me!
