Tasty Tuesday: Basic Chocolate Brownies

Who doesn’t like a good chocolate brownie?  And if you are like me, it’s awfully tempting to just use a box mix when you get that craving.  Next time instead of going for the box, why not try these Basic Chocolate Brownies?  You’ll be able to whip them up almost as fast and they are deliciously moist and chocolatey- not to mention healthier than their boxed counterpart.

Basic Chocolate Brownie

  • 1 cup Butter
  • 1 1/2 cups White Sugar
  • 4 whole Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • ⅔ cups Cocoa Powder
  • 1 cup Flour
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Powder
  • nuts and/or chocolate or peanut butter chips (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease a 9×13 pan.  Melt butter, add ingredients in the order listed.  Stir well by hand.  Bake for 25-30 minutes.  Do not over-bake!  It’s better if they are almost a bit underdone than over-baked.
