Octomom Says Her Babies ‘Disgust’ Her

Friday, July 1st, 2011

OctomomNadya Suleman, the California mother who became known as the “Octomom” after she gave birth to octuplets in 2009, has reportedly told In Touch magazine that her babies “disgust” her, that she has suffered from suicidal thoughts, and that her financial woes are overwhelming.

CNN.com reports:

Suleman, who was labeled with the moniker “Octomom” after she gave birth to octuplets in 2009, told the publication, “I hate the babies, they disgust me.”

She went on, “My older six are animals, getting more and more out of control, because I have no time to properly discipline them.”

The single mom told the magazine that the only way she can cope is to lock herself in the bathroom and cry.

“Sometimes I sit there for hours and even eat my lunch sitting on the toilet floor. Anything to get peace and quiet,” she said….

“Some days I have thought about killing myself. I cannot cope,” Suleman tells In Touch. She says of her kids, “Obviously, I love them – but I absolutely wish I had not had them.”

The doctor who performed the in-vitro fertilization procedure that resulted in Suleman’s octuplets is currently appealing suspension of his medical license.

‘Octomom’ Doctor Appeals License Revocation

Thursday, June 23rd, 2011

Dr. Michael Kamrava, the Los Angeles fertility doctor whose 2009 in-vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure resulted in Nadya Suleman’s infamous octuplets, is asking for the California medical board to allow him to continue practicing medicine while he appeals the board’s decision to suspend his license.

Dr. Kamrava represented himself in court, according to The Associated Press, and claimed the state’s medical licensing agency “exceeded its jurisdiction and violated (his) due process right to earn a living” by revoking his license.

If the board upholds its decision, Dr. Kamrava can petition to have his license reinstated after three years.  At that time, he would have to demonstrate considerable changes to the medical judgment that led him to transfer high numbers of embryos–12 in an early cycle of Suleman’s–into IVF patients.

What do you think of the medical board’s decision in this case?  Should they uphold it?

‘Octomom’ Doctor’s Medical License Revoked

Thursday, June 2nd, 2011

The California medical board has revoked the license of Dr. Michael Kamrava, on the grounds that he committed “gross negligence” by transferring an excessive number of embryos during Nadya Suleman’s IVF procedure in 2009.  Suleman, 35, is known as the “Octomom” because she gave birth to octuplets later that year.

The board considered two other cases in addition to Suleman’s, in one of which Kamrava transferred 7 embryos into a 48-year-old mother. “This is not a one-patient case or a two-patient case; it is a three patient case, and the established causes of discipline include repeated negligent acts (all three patients), gross negligence (two patients) and inadequate records (one patient),” the board said in its report, according to The Telegraph newspaper.

Do you think the medical board is right to revoke Dr. Kamrava’s medical license?
