TV journalist Lisa Ling and her husband Dr. Paul Song have welcomed their first child, a girl they nave named Jett Ling Song, PEOPLE.com is reporting:
Born at 1:24 p.m., Jett weighed in at 6 lbs., 6 oz.
“Lisa and Jett are resting comfortably. The proud parents are enjoying the first day of parenthood and are looking forward to bringing their daughter home,” a statement reads.
Ling, 39, and Song, an oncologist, were married in 2007. After experiencing a miscarriage in 2010, the couple announced in October that a baby girl was on the way.

Lisa Ling, the journalist whose documentary series “Our America” airs on the OWN channel, is expecting her first child–a girl. From PEOPLE.com:
The TV journalist, whose documentary series, Our America, airs on OWN, first revealed her baby news — and a sonogram — Wednesday on Anderson Cooper‘s daytime talk show, Anderson Live.
It’s a happy moment for Ling, 39, who shared her heartbreak over a miscarriage in 2010.
“I felt more like a failure than I’d felt in a very long time,” Ling, said at the time of losing her pregnancy at seven weeks. “When I heard the doctor say there was no heartbeat it was like bam, like a knife through the heart.”
