Gerber Recalls Some Formula Due to Strange Odor

The Gerber Products Company has announced a voluntary recall on a batch of Good Start Gentle powdered infant formula, citing reports of a strange odor from some parents who purchased the formula.  The company stresses that no reported illnesses have resulted, and there is no health risk to those who have the formula.

The recalled formula is a 23.2 ounce plastic package from batch GXP1684 with an expiration date of March 5, 2013.  Customers who have the formula should avoiding using the product and contact Gerber at 1-800-487-7763 for a free replacement.
