Build-A-Bear Recalls 300,000 Stuffed Bears

Colorful Hearts Teddy Bears sold in Build-A-Bear stores in the United States and Canada pose a potential choking hazard to children and have been recalled, the Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced.  The recall affects more than 300,000 bears, whose eyes can loosen and fall out, choking children if they are swallowed.

No incidents of choking or injury have been reported.  Parents should immediately take the recalled teddy bear from children and return it to any Build-A-Bear store to receive a coupon for any available stuffed animal from Build-A-Bear.

Thank you for sharing! We bought one for my niece and as soon as I saw this I immediately called my sister to tell her to take this out of reach until she could take it in to exchange it. Glad to know my niece will be safe now :D

I wonder why it’s only this bear. I have one build-a-bear that has pretty much the same type of eyes…wonder why this one is causing a problem?

Thank you Build A Bear for this recall. My wife and I picked one of these up while Christmas Shopping. My wife really loved it. But thanks to you she’s NOT happy But Safe!!! I had to chase her down and finally tackeled her, prying it from her arms. While she yelled ” I DON’T EAT EYES” !!!!!! She’s Not Happy But She’s Safe.
P.S. Do y’all make blankets from the recalled Bears?? It’s Cold Living In the Dog House.
