Maya Angelou Emails Obama Supporters

Maya Angelou is trending big time on Twitter right now. Most of it is love. But there are too many haters. After all, she took a stand for Obama in a mass email to the president’s supporters. And we all know how heated this election is getting.

Still, I can’t take it. She’s Maya Angelou! She’s the author of the book I Know Why the Cage Bird Sings and the poem Phenomenal Woman. Her work is too prolific to list here. Her influence too great for words.

I’ve copied much of the email below. It arrived with the subject: “Pretty or plain, heavy or thin, gay or straight, poor or rich.” What do you think?

    She didn`t say who to vote for, she told known Obama supporters to go vote, and encourage their friends and family to do the same.

    It doesn’t matter who you vote for, that`s your business and yours alone, what matters is that normal people get off their butts and vote at all.
