Learning His ABCs & 123s

First thing on the mornings Roy goes to daycare, I lay him out on the changing table to get him out of his PJs and into his clothes. We usually chat about the day’s plan or where Daddy is (sleepin’? work? hammer?), but the other morning, Roy began enthusiastically droppin’ knowledge.

Roy: A, B, C!

Me: Wow, that’s great, hon! You know the first three letters of the alphabet! A, B and C. Good job! Do you know numbers, too?

Me: Numbers. Like you learned at daycare. One…

Me: Do you know what comes after one?

Roy, triumphantly: Goose!

SO close.

Just amazing, Roy is a super star. Milo has been waking up around 4 am, singing, “…hmmm, e, f, g…” and back to sleep. I’m not sure why he’s focused on e,f, and g, skipping A-D.

I have to meet that little alphabety Milo. Maybe they just like the sound of some of them? Roy’s been fixating on “5, 6″ lately.

Sounds like Roy might be breaking into dance soon? Yes, a meeting needs to happen.
