"The MediatricianSM." Good Deed Friday: Be Nice!

Friday, May 30th, 2008

I know it’s Friday, and the last thing you want to do is think about the horrible Monday that is looming at the end of your weekend. But here’s a quick way to perk up "a case of the Mondays." The idea is to try to Do One Nice Thing every Monday to start the week off on a feel-good high (found via Coveiter). The site‘s got great ideas and a blog where people can record the nice things they’ve seen and done. Since it was launched, it’s inspired people to send 70 tons of school supplies to soldiers in Afghanistan for distribution and to send over 8,000 handmade cards to sick children. So even though it’s Friday – think about doing something nice on Monday, and it might make the start of the week a little easier to swallow.

Who’s Your Daddy?

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

33Check out ManBabies—a new blog that does nothing but post pictures of fathers and babies, with the heads swapped. It’s a simple concept, but totally hilarious. If you’re so moved you can submit your own photo to them to digitally alter and post. Father’s Day present, anyone?

You Go WhyMommy

Monday, January 21st, 2008

Back in September we interviewed WhyMommy about her brave struggle against breast cancer and how she has been using her battle to spread the word and to raise awareness about the importance of early detection as well as to help other fighters be as courageous as she is. Tomorrow, January 22nd, WhyMommy  is going to have a double mastectomy and we to ask all of you to join us in sending our love, positive thoughts and prayers her way. WhyMommy go kick cancer’s butt!

Build a (Virtual) Gingerbread House

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

Check out this beautiful gingerbread house I just created (via Ohdeedoh)! I’m not really kitchen-inclined enough to make a real gingerbread house, so this virtual one totally fulfilled my craving to stick candy-colored goodies all over. Plus, no cavities and no calories. Merry Christmas!

Good Deed Friday: Organic Kids’ T-Shirts

Friday, November 30th, 2007

I love these kids’ tees from bioME 5 that I saw over on the brand-new lilSugar. They have every letter of the alphabet for each animal: from A for Alligator to Z for Zebra. The design is adorable and modern, and your kids will look great in the tees. But the best part is that each animal’s name is spelled upside-down and backwards—this way your child can read the name when he looks down at his shirt. Fun, right?! It’s also a purchase you can feel good about buying because the products are made with 100% certified organic cotton in sweatshop-free environments in the USA, and the company’s processes are totally eco-friendly.

So just for our lovely GoodyBlog readers, bioME 5 is offering a special discount code. Just enter the coupon code "07GB13" when you’re checking out to get $5 off your purchase AND free shipping within the US. Coupon valid until 12/31/07.

If you’re not buying, head over to their website anyways—it’s a really cool site with lots of wildlife sounds and animal noises to entertain your kids!
