Show Baby’s Aunts and Uncles Some Love July 26!

Thursday, July 10th, 2014

There’s Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and even Grandparents’ Day (it’s September 7, if you were wondering!), but did you know there’s a special day (July 26) devoted to aunts and uncles, too? These individuals likely play a significant role your child’s life, and they certainly deserve some love. The best present of all? Knowing how much Baby cares for them. Shop these cute aunt- and uncle-themed products, then dress up your kiddo and snap a picture, if you can’t actually visit those important relatives. Click the images to shop.

For the Aunts…

Baby has a bestie! We bet your sis will be thrilled to take on the role! (Carter’s one-piece, $5, Sears)

An animal-loving aunt will get a kick out of this adorable bib. ($5, Babies R Us)

This tee is perfect for the sweetie who has multiple aunts in her life–no playing favorites here! ($10, The Children’s Place)

The message is plain and simple–it’s amour! ($5, Target)

For the Uncles…

Good looks really do run in the family. Our guess is everyone thinks Baby’s adorable, so his uncle should be prepared for lots of attention! ($5, Babies R Us)

This one-piece is graced with positive adjectives (hip, funny, and hot, to name a few) describing Baby’s uncle, who, apparently, is flawless! ($15, Bed, Bath and Beyond)

Babes who are past the bodysuit stage can sport this bold tee. ($12, Kohl’s)

Who else lets Baby stay up past her bedtime and watch all the Dora she wants? That guy. ($10, The Children’s Place)

Should you hire your sister-in-law to babysit? Here’s what you need to keep in mind.

Parents Goody Giveaway: Win $100 Shopping Spree at The Children’s Place

Tuesday, February 25th, 2014

Back in December, The Children’s Place gave us a sneak peek of their Spring stuff, and I kept a photo of two outfits on my phone through the long and dreary January and February as a promise that warm weather will come. (It’s between pictures of my Christmas tree and holiday lights!) Now all this cuteness is rolling into stores, and I am so ready!

Here are the major trends I’ve noticed not just from The Children’s Place, but all the kids stores: Lots of brights, pants with all kinds of patterns (flowers, dots, skulls, stripes, you name it), lace for girls, and camo for boys. There’s also a Mexicana theme in some girl clothes, with embroidered-looking flowers and designs. So pretty! And (maybe because I have an 8-year-old boy who still doesn’t want to deal with pants that button) I’m kind of obsessed with all the pull-on plaid shorts for little dudes. Preppy and practical!

Stock up on spring fashion for your own kiddo by entering our latest giveaway. The Children’s Place is offering ONE lucky winner a $100 gift card!

To enter, leave a comment below, up to one a day between today and the end of the day March 3. More Qs about our giveaway? Read the official rules. Be sure to check back on March 4 and scroll to the bottom of the post to see who won. We reach out to winners via Facebook message (it goes into your “other” message folder on Facebook), so if you win, look for us there as well. Goody luck!

Congrats to our winner Amy Hardrick!

American Baby’s Baby Booty: Win a Holiday Outfit for Baby

Thursday, November 29th, 2012

The very cutest things I get to see in my job as Senior Lifestyle Editor at American Baby are the tiny outfits. Babies are a joy to dress, or at least mine were. My brother joked that my daughter Grace was like Diana Ross, with several outfit switches in a day. And although boys’ clothes are somehow never as cute, I had a good time dressing up my son in plaid pants like a little old man. Dress your babies up before they have opinions of their own, is what I say!

I find myself with some teeny-tiny holiday outfits here in the office, and they need some babies to go with them! Maybe yours? The smallest outfit is for a baby girl from The Disney Store, in size 6 to 12 months. It’s actually a shirt attached to a bodysuit, with a tulle skirt that can be pulled over top. It sells for $29.50 here at The Disney Store.

This lavender number is from The Childrens Place, and is sized 12-18 months. It’s now on sale for $10.50, so seriously, if you don’t win it and still want it, find it here at The Children’s Place web site!

And then we have a bunch of holiday goodies from Tiny Tillia, sold through Avon, so I’ll divide that into one set of Polar Bear pajamas and a robe in size 2T, and a second set of baby accessories that includes socks, a bib, a hat, and red mittens. The robe is $20 and the pjs are $15, sold here at the Tiny Tillia site. The total worth of the baby accessories is $28 and they’re also sold on the site.

To be eligible, leave a comment below between now and the end of the day on Wednesday, December 5th. Tell me what your big baby photo opportunity is this season. (Visit with Santa? Christmas morning in pjs? Dressed up for dinner at grandma’s?) For the complete rules, click here. Goody luck!
