Friday, October 15th, 2010

These days, everyone is looking for ways to go green. Whether it’s by shopping organic, recycling batteries, or carpooling to work, people around the world are trying their hardest to preserve the environment. Well, Parents.com’s very own Julie Knapp, writing for our friends over at Inhabitots, brings the “waste not, want not” philosophy to new levels as she ponders the use of breast milk in recipes the entire family can enjoy. (After all, some research suggests that adult consumption of breast milk may be beneficial to the treatment of cancer, diabetes, and diarrhea.) From yogurt and butter to risotto and French toast, Knapp tosses out ten clever ways to use leftover breast milk, a controversial practice that’s already taken off in Switzerland and China.
