Happy Halloween from Celebrity Baby Scoop!

What better way to celebrate the spook-tacular holiday than by looking at our favorite celebrity kids in their boo-tiful costumes!

From Neil Patrick Harris’ festive family-of-four, to Alyson Hannigan‘s colorful crew, to Tori Spelling‘s foodie-themed fun, let’s take a look at some of the best Halloween costumes in Hollywood.

Neil Patrick Harris

Neil Patrick Harris shared an adorable picture with his twins – son Gideon and daughter Harper – dressed up last Halloween in Wizard of Oz costumes.

“Happy Halloween everyone! Hope your tricking and treating gotcha lotsa booty! Here’s our family costume pic,” NPH posted via Twitter.

We love seeing the Harris-Burtkas’ Halloween costumes!

The year before, the festive family-of-four dressed up in a Peter Pan theme, with NPH going as Captain Hook, David as Peter and their twins as Smee and Tinkerbell.

And not to mention this year’s Alice in Wonderland theme!

“Our costumes for the Halloween carnival at the kids’ preschool yesterday,” NPH posted via Instagram. “But 10/31 will be frighteningly different..! @DavidBurtka came up with both themes/costumes. He’s amazing.”

Sandra Bullock

Gravity star Sandra Bullock and her 3-year-old son Louis attended a Halloween party as skeletons in Studio City, Calif. this year (October 19).

The Oscar winner wore ghoulish face paint and a black and white lace dress with a bone-like corset. To match his mama, the sweet preschooler donned a black and white skeleton jumpsuit with removable wings.

Last Halloween, the adorable mother-son duo dressed up as Jessie and Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story.

Tia Mowry-Hardrict

Instant Mom star Tia Mowry-Hardrict was all smiles with her son Cree, 2, in West Hollywood, Calif. this year (October 13).

Sporting a Superman costume, Cree and his famous mama had a blast picking out the perfect pumpkins at Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch.

Alyson Hannigan

Alyson Hannigan and husband Alexis Denisof love getting dressed up at Halloween.

The cute couple were seen trick-or-treating with their daughters Satyana and Keeva in Brentwood, Calif. last Halloween Day. The festive family-of-four were a colorful bunch in their seahorse costumes.

The high-profile family love celebrating Halloween. The year prior, they dressed up as a scarecrow couple alongside their sweet daughter Satyana who went as a pumpkin.

And who could forget those fabulous kangaroo costumes when Sati was just a lil’ baby!

Jack Osbourne

“The Princess of Darkness,” proud papa Jack Osbourne captioned a shot of his adorable baby girl.

Dressed up as her 62-year-old rockstar grandfather Ozzy Osbourne, 1-year-old Pearl Osbourne nailed it with a long black wig and purple shades in the hilarious photo.

LeAnn Rimes & Eddie Cibrian

Grease is the word for LeAnn Rimes.

The country singer dressed up as Sandy from the classic movie last Halloween. She posted photos on her Twitter account of herself, husband Eddie Cibrian and stepsons Mason, and Jake.

She wrote: “Family of the Grease days, Indiana Jones and a tribute to our navy seals.”

Alyssa Milano

Who’s the Boss? star Alyssa Milano got into the Halloween spirit with her sweet son Milo last Halloween.

“Happy Halloween from Tinkerbell and Peter Pan,” Alyssa posted via Instagram.

The actress and her baby boy looked like the perfect duo in their Halloween costumes.

Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren got festive with their two daughters, Honor and Haven, last Halloween.

Just days before Halloween Day, the sweet sisters were spotted in matching Incredibles costumes as they headed out with their movie star mom in West Hollywood, Calif.

The Sin City actress didn’t join in on the fun on that occasion, but she did later post a pic to Twitter in the festive spirit!

Tori Spelling

Tori Spelling and husband Dean McDermott are proud parents to four children: Liam, Stella, Hattie and Finn. Last year, the proud mom shared some adorable shots of her costumed cuties.

When he was just one-month-old, her youngest child, son Finn, celebrated his first ever Halloween in adorable fashion, dressing up as a little sushi roll.

The reality star mama seemed to pick a foodie theme for her kids’ costumes last year: she also posted a photo of her then 1-year-old daughter Hattie dressed up as spaghetti and meatballs.

Snooki

Baby first Halloween!

Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi shared a festive photo of her family dressed up in their Halloween costumes last year.

“We got superhero swag. #Lorenzos1stHalloween,” the proud new mom captioned the photo with fiancé Jionni LaValle and their then 2-month-old son Lorenzo.

Why All Parents Should See the Movie Gravity

Monday, October 21st, 2013

Major spoiler alert: Gravity—the box office hit starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as astronauts—isn’t about space at all. I mean, of course all the action takes place in space, and it’s packed with plenty breathtaking shots of our planet as seen from above, but Gravity is about something far more down to earth. Specifically, it’s about what it means to be a parent.

Ryan Stone, played by Sandra Bullock, is a scientist on her first venture out into space. Much like a newborn baby, she’s in a brand new place where the very unexpected and dangerous can—and does—happen. (Director Alfonso Cuarón even goes so far with the newborn metaphor as to show us Ryan floating in the fetal position with what looks like an umbilical cord tethering her—watch for it maybe 30 minutes in, really cool shot.) Luckily for Ryan she’s not alone. Matt Kowalski, her far more space-savvy colleague, takes on a very paternal role, coaching her through unfamiliar situations, and straight-up parenting her. But, like with all parent/child relationships, there’s a time that Matt has to literally let go, and Ryan will have to find her own way armed only with the lessons Matt has left her. It’s one of the most direct stories of growing up and finding your legs that I’ve seen in ages. It’s also a beautiful, if painful, lesson in the necessity of setting your progeny free.

But let’s talk more about Sandra Bullock’s character, Ryan. She isn’t just any woman trying to grow up and find her way in this unpredictable, often scary universe. We learn early on that she’s a mother—specifically, a mother whose daughter was killed at a very young age in a freak playground accident. Some critics have called Ryan’s backstory “schmaltzy,” but I think it’s vital to the story, in underlining that parents (and people in general) want to think we have control, when in reality so many things in life are terrifyingly beyond our influence. No, it’s not a warm and fuzzy message—but I don’t think parenting is warm and fuzzy all the time. Raising a child, knowing that her well-being and even existence depends on you, can be scary. Nearly as scary at times, some might argue, as floating above the earth, unprotected, with giant hunks of space debris hurtling in your direction.

The lesson Gravity teaches is that parenting (and life in general) can be a harrowing experience. The best thing we can do is to push forward, never give up, and try to cherish the exquisite view along the way.

First Photos: Celebrity Babies Make Their Debut

Wednesday, July 3rd, 2013

This post was written by our friends at Celebrity Baby Scoop.

As the world waits for the first images of North West - the newborn daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West - the question remains: to tweet or to make a deal? Everly

With rumors swirling that Kim’s momager Kris Jenner will introduce her granddaughter on her new daytime TV show, to reported offers of up to $2 million for a magazine cover debut, we await the first images of baby KimYe.

Let’s take a look at the big business of releasing the first photos of Tinseltown’s tots.

It’s been a few years since A-list couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt received a whopping $15 million for the first pictures of their now 4-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. The Jolie-Pitt twins – along with their four other siblings – are now just as famous as their parents.

The debut of celebrity children continues to make headlines. While the demand has not died, many star couples are passing on multi-million

In June, star couple Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum released the first photo of their newborn daughter Everly via Facebook. Levi

For a long time running, PEOPLE magazine had a monopoly on introductory celebaby photos. But today, many stars are turning to competitors who are doling out generous offerings.

Other high-profile parents are releasing their own photos for free via social media. While some do not debut any photos at all, and are simply caught by the paparazzi, as was the case recently for Sarah Michelle Gellar who was spotted for the first time with 9-month-old son Rocky.

Here’s a list of top 10 most expensive baby photos to date. Max and Emme

The 10 Best-Dressed Celebrity Moms

Thursday, August 16th, 2012

This post was written by our friends at Celebrity Baby Scoop.

We love seeing our favorite celebrity moms in their everyday funky fashions. Whether it’s Jessica Alba’s newest scarf, or Victoria Beckham’s sky-high stilettos, we can’t get enough of Tinseltown’s latest trends.

According to CelebrityBabyScoop’s recent Readers’ Choice Awards, these are the 10 best-dressed, high-profile mamas in Hollywood:

1. Victoria Beckham

Mom-of-four Victoria Beckham never ceases to amaze us with her signature Louboutins, sleek designs and overall flair for fashion. Does she ever wear yoga pants and jeans like most moms? Probably not, and that’s why we love Vicki’s mom style the most.

2. Jessica Alba

Often seen in scarves, fedoras, and carrying oversized bags, actress Jessica Alba is dressed to impress while out and about with her two daughters. While her daughters sometimes steal the show in their own fashion statements, Jessica keeps the trends current with layers, patterns, and bright splashes of color.

3. Jennifer Garner

Mom-of-three Jennifer Garner is our favorite celebrity mom year after year. And it’s her carefree, casual fashions that make us love her even more! Often spotted in jeans, tees, and cardigans, Jen usually keeps it low-key in little to no makeup and sneakers. While some criticize the actress for her casual attire, most of us are happy to see a Hollywood star dress like us everyday moms!

4. Gwen Stefani

From street chic to Hollywood glam, Gwen Stefani knows how to rock the trends! A successful fashion designer in her own right, Gwen often talks about the importance of fashion and maintaining her image in Hollywood. And not to mention her sons’ funky duds! We always love seeing what Gwen and her boys are wearing.

5. Angelina Jolie

It’s rare to see Angelina Jolie in casual clothes and colors. The mom-of-six is often sporting black skirts and dresses, paired with heels and shades. Although she has such a busy household, Angie always looks polished and stylish, giving her the No. 5 spot on our best dressed list.

And rounding out the top 10 best dressed celebrity moms are Nicole Richie, Selma Blair, Nicole Kidman, Sandra Bullock, and Pink.

Who’s your favorite fashionista?

A Look at 10 Hollywood Adoptions

Thursday, July 26th, 2012

This post was written by our friends at Celebrity Baby Scoop.

Thanks to A-list couples like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Hollywood has put adoption in the spotlight.

From Malawi, to Korea, to the United States, CelebrityBabyScoop takes a look at some international and domestic adoptions from our favorite celebrity families. And hear about the joys from some of the most high-profile adoptive parents.

Jillian Michaels:
The Biggest Loser star Jillian Michaels and her partner Heidi Rhoades became parents to two children in May: A 2-year-old daughter Lukensia and a newborn son Phoenix.

“About three and a half years ago I began dating my partner Heidi,” Jillian shared on her road toward motherhood. “We had a very easy going, comfortable and no-pressure relationship. And a year or so into our relationship, I decided I want to adopt.”

The celebrity trainer went on to say the adoption process was not easy, and after a year and a half of waiting for a referral from Africa, she switched gears.

“I switched all my paperwork over to Haiti and I get a phone call one day,” she shared. “Heidi is now trying to get pregnant for five months now. They say, ‘We have a referral for you,’ which means they’ve matched you with a child. I was like, ‘This is unbelievable, this is great!’ I come home and tell Heidi, and in less than 24 hours she says, ‘By the way, I’m pregnant.’ ”

Charlize Theron:
Academy Award-winning actress Charlize Theron, who stars in Snow White and the Huntsman and Prometheus this summer, shocked fans with her baby news in March. The actress adopted a baby boy named Jackson.

Charlize recently opened up about a letter she wrote at 8-years-old, sharing her plans for a future adoption.

“My mother found [it]. It said, ‘Would you please take me to orphanage, so that I can go and adopt a baby?’ I always knew I would adopt – always,” she shared.

Sandra Bullock:
Not only did Sandra Bullock become an Academy Award-winner in 2010, she also become a mom. The Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close actress adopted a New Orleans-born boy, Louis, in January 2010.

Now 2-years-old, Louis has become Sandra’s greatest joy: “He’s just perfect, I can’t even describe him any other way.”

Sandra opened up about the first time she laid eyes on her gorgeous son:

“The first time I met Louis, it was like the whole outside world got quiet,” she said. “It was like he had always been a part of our lives. All I said when I met him was, ‘Oh, there you are.’”

10 Celebrity Moms Who Make a Difference

Thursday, March 8th, 2012

Celebrity Moms Who Make a DifferenceThis post was written by our friends at Celebrity Baby Scoop.

Three cheers for the following 10 celebrity moms who are making a big difference!

From donating to the relief efforts after natural disasters, to advocating for autism awareness, to building an all-girls school in Africa, take a look through our list of 10 celebrity moms who are giving back and making our world a better place.

Jenny McCarthy:

Love her or hate her, Jenny McCarthy has become one of the strongest voices for children with autism with her charitable organization Generation Rescue.  The activist mama told Celebrity Baby Scoop that her unofficial role as the celebrity spokesperson on the topic is nothing short of a blessing. “Anytime you can do something that serves the greater good and make a difference, you should act,” the mom-of-one said. “So, what I thought was a hardship in my life, I now see as a blessing because I can reach so many people.”

Jenny’s son Evan, 9, was diagnosed with autism when he was 2 ½-years-old. The single mom has publicly spoken about the possible link between childhood vaccinations and autism. She is also well-known for saying that children can “recover” from autism.

Has the community embraced her since Evan’s recovery — and her controversial statement?

“My story of Evan’s recovery is not unique, there are thousands of parents before me whose shoulders I stand on today,” Jenny said. “I’m just as active today as when Evan recovered from autism. I still travel the country lecturing on autism, am the president and board member of Generation Rescue and actively fundraise throughout the country for the foundation. My journey now is for the other parents whose voice hasn’t been heard.”

Amanda Peet:

Something’s Gotta Give star Amanda Peet joined forces with American Red Cross to talk about the Measles Initiative. Unlike Jenny McCarthy, Amanda has long been outspoken on advocating for childhood vaccinations. “Every day, 450 children in this world die from measles – a disease that is entirely preventable with a vaccine,” Amanda told Celebrity Baby Scoop. “We have an actual cure, yet innocent children are still dying at alarming numbers.” She added: “Why? I learned why… The measles vaccine may exist, but many parents and children in this world do not have access to that cure. They live in remote villages, in countries with weak and inadequate health care systems. Routine immunization is a foreign concept altogether.”

The actress – who is mom to daughters Frankie, nearly 5, and Molly, 1- continued on the importance of childhood vaccinations. “Can you imagine watching your child die from a disease that a simple vaccine could have cured? It is not right. We take so much for granted in this country. When my children were born, my husband and I made the choice to vaccinate them against measles. Why shouldn’t other parents have that same choice and that same peace of mind? Why shouldn’t those children be protected the way mine are?”

“The good news is that groups like the American Red Cross  and the United Nations joined together in 2001 and formulated a plan to bring mass measles vaccination campaigns to countries and villages all over the world,” Amanda continued. “For two years, I have been a volunteer with the American Red Cross, advocating on behalf of its Measles Initiative, a partnership committed to reducing measles deaths globally.”

Gwen Stefani:

The original Harajuku Lover, Gwen Stefani, dug deep into her pockets after the devastation in Japan.

The mom of 5-year-old Kingston and 3-year-old Zuma donated $1 million to Save the Children’s Japan Earthquake-Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund to help with recovery efforts in the devastated nation. “I’ve been inspired by Japan for many years and have a true love, appreciation and respect for the Japanese people and their culture,” Gwen said. “The disaster in Japan is beyond heartbreaking, and I want to do anything I can to help. I would never be able to make a gesture like this without the love and support of all the fans over all these years.”

Sandra Bullock:

Academy Award-winning actress Sandra Bullock was one of the first celebrities to donate toward the Japan tsunami relief. The mom of 1-year-old Louis donated $1 million to the important cause.

And that’s not the first time she’s helped out after a natural disaster. She was also involved in the disaster relief efforts following Hurricane Katrina. “Half of my family has a deep-rooted connection to the South and Louisiana, and, for me, New Orleans is one of our most precious, historic communities — visually, emotionally, artistically,” Sandy B has said.
