In honor of on May 12, we asked some of our favorite celebrity moms how they’re planning to spend the special day.
From new moms Holly Madison and Giuliana Rancic to mom-of-four Tori Spelling, let’s look at how the stars celebrate all things mom.
Giuliana Rancic:
Reality stars Giuliana Rancic and Bill Rancic welcomed their first child, son Duke, in August 2012. The new mom opened up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about her big plans to celebrate her first Mother’s Day.
“Bill and I are having our moms come to LA for Mother’s Day – to make it special for all of us,” she shared. “We’re planning a fancy bunch with the whole family at a nice hotel in Newport Coast and then a walk on the beach. Really, I just want to relax and enjoy the day together as a whole family.”
She added: “This Mother’s Day is especially meaningful because it’s my first time to celebrate as a mother, of course! After struggling for years to have a baby, it’s a real gift to be able to spend the special day with Bill, Duke and our family.”
Holly Madison:
Before welcoming her first child, daughter Rainbow, on March 5, Playboy model Holly Madison shared her hopes for her first Mother’s Day.
“I hope my boyfriend and I can find something fun to do that someone only a few months old will enjoy,” Holly shared. “Maybe we will take her to the Springs Preserve (a park here in Vegas) and see if she reacts to any of the animals and the nature.”
Tiffani Thiessen:
White Collar star Tiffani Thiessen is mom to 2-year-old daughter Harper. The Saved by the Bell alum talked about celebrating Mother’s Day in New York City with her mom and her daughter.
“Being a mom now myself, it is even more special,” she shared. “What’s great is we will be in New York again this year as I shoot Season 5 of White Collar. I’ll get to celebrate the day with my Mom and my daughter, all of us together.
Niki Taylor:
Supermodel Niki Taylor is proud mom to four children – 18-year-old twin sons Jake and Hunter, 4-year-old daughter Ciel, and son Rex, 17 months. Here’s what the blonde beauty had to say about what Mother’s Day means to her.
“I don’t know what my family has planned for me,” she admitted. ”I just want to be with my babies and I hope I am with my mom and my sister. My mom is still an amazing mom and she’s a wonderful grandmother as well. I thank her and always pray for her. I still always call her for advice. To me, Mother’s Day is about my mom and I want to be with her on that day. It is a day for the family to be together.”
She added: “My favorite Mother’s Day gifts are anything with chocolate or sugar in it [laughs]. Also, I think quality time is always the best gift.”

Some say over 40 is too old for pregnancy, while others argue that under 30 is too young
Let’s take a look within Hollywood and see who has entered motherhood in their teens and 20s. From Britney Spears and her sis Jamie Lynn Spears, to moms-to-be Hilary Duff and Snooki, look through our list of 10 young Hollywood moms.
Snooki:
In the worst-kept secret in reality TV history, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, 24, recently confirmed that she is pregnant and engaged to the father, beau of one and a half years Jionni LaValle.
And the Jersey Shore star and LaValle, also 24, know just what onlookers are thinking. “I have different priorities now,” the reformed party girl said. “I don’t care what anybody else thinks. As long as I know I’m ready and he’s ready.”
Hilary Duff:
Disney darling Hilary Duff, 24, is expecting her first child with hockey star hubby Mike Comrie, 31. “I feel like the first pregnant woman on Earth,” Hilary said. “Every time I feel something, I’m like, ‘What is this? What’s happening?’ And I’m Googling and finding out that everyone has had the same symptoms and I’m totally not original.” The Lizzie McGuire star went on to talk about her first pregnancy. “Today I got out of the shower and one side of my stomach [was] way bigger than the other side. It was the first time that I saw the baby actually moving in there!,” she said. “It was like I had a little alien inside!”
Britney Spears:
When pop princess Britney Spears was 22, she wed her second husband Kevin Federline. At the tender age of 23, Brit gave birth to her first child, Sean Preston. Just one year later, the Oops!… I Did It Again singer welcomed her second son, Jayden James.
Brit has opened up about how motherhood has changed her life. “As a mother, the one thing that always goes through your head is, ‘You’re never enough.’ You never can be enough—or do enough—for your kids,” she said. “It’s a never-ending issue for me. I had to learn: Don’t beat yourself up so much…. You have to take it one day at a time, do the best that you can and enjoy yourself. I notice that if there are some times I’ve been stressed, because I’m human and stress about things, that affects your kids. So you have to make sure you’re a happy mom so they can be happy.”
Jamie Lynn Spears:
Not to be outdone by big sister Britney, Jamie Lynn Spears welcomed her first child at the young age of 17. The teen mom and her then-boyfriend, Casey Aldridge, welcomed daughter Maddie Briann in June 2008.
Jamie Lynn recently talked about being embarrassed at the time to reach out for birth control. “I was 16. I’d had one boyfriend. It doesn’t make it perfect or all right,” she said. “Casey was my first love,” she said. “Since the day I saw him, I just wanted to marry him and be with him forever and ever. I believe in safety and birth control as prevention. But like many young girls…I was really scared to go to the doctor. And I was on a Nickelodeon show, and it [felt] especially embarrassing to ask someone to put me on birth control. I didn’t want to ask my doctor, because she had a little girl.”
The young mom went on to say she never wanted to “glamorize teen pregnancy.” “When I found out I was pregnant, [my parents and I] decided to do an interview with OK! magazine about it. I knew I needed to give an explanation to my fans, and I wanted it to be in my words first. I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls and the mothers who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn’t trying to glamorize teen pregnancy. I hated when [the tabloids] said that. Everybody is dealt a hand of cards. It was my choice to play them the way I played them. But the hateful comments hurt. [Parent groups were outraged at the Nickelodeon star, and tabloids printed rumors that Spears had a miscarriage, that she was giving up her baby, and that Aldridge was cheating on her.] I was already upset about having to tell my parents and Casey’s parents. To have the world come down on a situation that was already affecting my family hugely was hard. But this was my situation, and I did the best I could.”
Miranda Kerr:
On January 6, 2011, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr, then 27, welcomed their first child, son Flynn. In our 4th Annual Readers’ Choice Awards, baby Flynn topped the charts as our favorite new tot in Tinseltown! [Flynn is] “the best thing I’ve ever done!,” Miranda gushed. “Every day it just gets better,” she added.

Our friends at Celebrity Baby Scoop wrote this post.
Who needs a publicist these days?
When celebrities start sporting a baby bump, Twitter is the communication tool to spread the happy news. And when it’s time to jump on the proud-new-parent bandwagon, what better way to announce the new addition than on a social network?!
Take a look through a list of celebrities that took to Twitter to announce their pregnancy and birth news.
Pregnancy Announcements:
Jessica Simpson:
In one of the worst-kept secrets in Hollywood history, Jessica Simpson took to Twitter on Halloween Day to confirm her pregnancy news.
“It’s True! I am going to be a mummy!”
While cradling her baby bump, the 31-year-old singer and fashionista – who is engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson – also dressed up in a mummy Halloween costume in a photograph accompanying the tweet.
Molly Sims:
Molly Sims and her husband Scott Stuber are expecting their first child later this year. The model and actress took to Twitter to announce the exciting news.
“Big news… I’m having a baby!” the blonde beauty wrote.
The 38-year-old beauty then directed her Twitter followers to read the following message on her official website: “I am absolutely, positively, downright over the moon to announce that we are pregnant!” she wrote. The mom-to-be added that their “honeymoon baby” is due in June.
Alyson Hannigan:
How I Met Your Mother star Alyson took to Twitter to announce her second pregnancy with husband Alexis Denisof.
Yes, I am pregnant!” Alyson wrote. “This time it is NOT a food baby. We are beyond happy!”
The American Pie actress was referring to her hilarious response to some photos we posted at the Malibu Chili Cook Off event last September.
She wrote: “NO, I’m not pregnant! I just ate too much carnival food, that time of the month, hurt my back & couldn’t suck my gut in, and need to do cardio!”
Alyson and Alexis are already parents to 2-year-old daughter Satyana.
Tori Spelling & Dean McDermott:
Reality TV stars Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are proud parents to two children: son Liam, 4, and daughter Stella, 3. The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum announced her third pregnancy via Twitter.
“I know there’s been a lot of speculation, so I wanted everyone to hear from me… It’s official…Dean & I are PREGNANT!!!!”
The couple welcomed daughter Hattie Margaret on October 10, 2011. Tori has since posted several pics of her newborn daughter via Twitter.
