10 Model Moms: From Stilettos to Strollers

Thursday, March 28th, 2013

This post was written by our friends at Celebrity Baby Scoop.

Some of the world’s most famous models have traded in their stilettos for strollers and the catwalk for the playground.

From Heidi Klum, who has four children, to Cindy Crawford, proud mom of two, let’s take a look at some of our favorite model moms.

Gisele Bündchen

Brazilian beauty Gisele Bündchen is mom to son Benjamin, 3, daughter Vivienne, 3 months, and 5-year-old stepson Jack.

“We feel so lucky to have been able to experience the miracle of birth once again and are forever grateful for the opportunity to be the parents of another little angel,” Gisele and her New England Patriots quarterback husband Tom Brady said after their daughter’s birth.

Cindy Crawford

Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber are parents to son Presley, 13, and Kaia, 11. And it seems Cindy’s kids have inherited mom’s stunning good looks.

At the age of 10, Kaia made her modeling debut for Young Versace. But according to her model mom, her little lookalike won’t be making a career of it any time soon.

“At this point, she’s too young to pursue a career,” Cindy said. “There aren’t even a handful of jobs for a 10-year-old girl. But if she’s 17 and wants to try it…of course, what can I say? She’s really into singing and acting. She kind of jokingly said—I’m not even sure if it was jokingly—‘I might model first because you don’t have to know how to do anything, but then I want to be a baby nurse.’”

Heidi Klum

German beauty Heidi Klum and her ex-husband Seal are parents to four children: Leni, 8, Henry, 7, Johan, 6, and Lou, 3.

The Project Runway host – who is now dating her bodyguard Martin Kirsten – filed for divorce last April and said that their split was not “devastating.”

“Did I wish for this to happen to my family? No,” Heidi said. “But everyone is healthy. We’re moving on with our lives. If someone got [very sick] – God forbid – that would be a real problem. It’s not what I wanted. It’s not what anyone wanted. But it’s not a real problem.”

Christy Turlington

From the catwalk and magazine covers to healthcare advocate, Christy Turlington has made it her mission to raise awareness about maternal mortality worldwide. The former supermodel has since made the documentary “No Woman, No Cry,” and she is the founder of Every Mother Counts.

Mom to daughter Grace, 9, and 6-year-old son Finn with husband Edward Burns, Christy opened up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about trading in her stilettos for charity work.

“My daughter is particularly proud that it was her coming into the world that changed the course of my life to the extent that it has,” said Christy of how her healthcare advocacy began. “My son is always just happy to have me when he has me, but he’s also very generous and doesn’t mind sharing.”

Alessandra Ambrosio

Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio and her partner Jamie Mazur are parents to daughter Anja, 4, and son Noah, 10 months.

Walking in her model mama’s famous footsteps, Anja and Alessandra recently launched London Fog’s Spring 2013 campaign.

“Anja had a lot of fun, she loved all of her outfits,” Alessandra said. “She was really into the polka dot trench coat.”

10 Celebrity Moms Breastfeeding Their Babies

Monday, October 8th, 2012

This post was written by our friends at Celebrity Baby Scoop.

With new mom Beyoncé among the celebrity moms who have no qualms about breastfeeding in public, we’re taking a look at 10 high-profile mamas who love nursing their babies.

Proud breastfeeding mama Pink says “I don’t give a sh*t what somebody else thinks” when it comes to nursing her 15-month-old daughter Willow, while new mom Snooki says breast milk is “best” for newborn son Lorenzo. Read on for more from Hollywood’s nursing mamas.

1. Pink

Pink is a proud breastfeeding mama and she’s ready to stand her ground against anyone who criticizes her for doing so. During a recent radio interview, the Grammy Award-winning singer recounted an altercation at a restaurant she visited with her husband and their now 15-month-old daughter Willow.

“The first time we went out to a restaurant, there was a guy who walked by, I had a cover on and it’s called a Hooter Hider,” the Blow Me (One Last Kiss) singer said.

“I had a Hooter Hider on and this guy walks by and was like, ‘Uughhh.’ He was just disgusted. I was like, ‘You didn’t get enough hugs when you were little.’ Carrie said, ‘You are starting fights in restaurants?’ I said, ‘I will… I will fight, hold my baby.’”

“I think breastfeeding is healthy and natural and it’s a comfort to my baby, so I can give a sh*t what somebody else thinks,” Pink said.

2. Snooki

New mom Snooki has been sharing pic after pic of her sweet 5-week-old son Lorenzo. And it turns out the reality TV star has changed her tune about breastfeeding.

The Jersey Shore star, who is engaged to Lorenzo’s father Jionni LaValle, told one of her pregnant Twitter followers, “All the pain and anxiety is so worth it!!!”

The pint-sized reality starlet confessed in June that she was “scared” of breastfeeding because it “looks so painful.” She added, “It’s kind of like you’re a cow and you’re just milking.”

But the new mom has had a change of heart! “I love nursing my little man!” she recently said.

“He holds his bottle like a champ,” the Jersey Shore star, 24, posted via Instagram. Presumed to be pumped breast milk in Enzo’s bottle, Snooki tweeted about the benefits of breastfeeding.

When a fan asked, “Does breastfeeding really burn like a zillion calories?,” the reality TV starlet tweeted, “I’ve lost a lot of my baby weight! Also it’s the best for him!”

3. Miranda Kerr

Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr and her handsome hubby Orlando Bloom welcomed their first child, son Flynn, in January 2011.

Although the industry expects supermodels to regain their svelte figure immediately, Miranda said her first priority was breastfeeding her babe.

“I didn’t feel pressure to snap back into shape,” she said. “My priority was just having my son and breastfeeding, which was something I really wanted to do, and it came easily.”

And she extended breastfeeding, nursing Flynn past his first birthday.

“I intend to breastfeed for as long as I can,” she said. “My breast milk will give our little Flynn the nutrition he needs for his continued healthy development and to all mums out there I am sure you will make the right choice for you and your baby.”

Favorite Celeb BabiesThis post was written by our friends at Celebrity Baby Scoop.

It’s a Hollywood’s baby boom!

From R&B royalty Jay-Z and Beyoncé‘s firstborn child Blue Ivy, and David and Victoria Beckham’s first daughter Harper Seven, to Pink and Carey Hart’s sweet girl Willow Sage, there have been some adorable new arrivals into Tinseltown!

Babies of 2012…

Blue Ivy Carter:

R&B royalty Jay-Z and Beyoncé welcomed one of the most highly-anticipated babies in Hollywood, daughter Blue Ivy, on January 7, 2012. The superstar couple released a touching statement to announce the birth of their first child’s birth. “Hello Hello Baby Blue!” they stated. “We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012. Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven. She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives. We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support.”

 Samuel Garner Affleck:

We can’t wait to see sweet baby Sam!

After having two daughters – Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3 – high-profile couple Ben Affleck andJennifer Garner finally welcomed a boy! Their third child, son Samuel Garner, was born on February 27, 2012. “We are happy to announce on February 27, Jennifer gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Samuel Garner Affleck,” Ben wrote on his Facebook page.”

Babies of 2011…

Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway:

Canadian crooner Alanis Morissette and husband Mario “Souleye” welcomed their first child, son Ever, on Christmas Day, 2010. Although she seems a natural, the of You Oughta Knowsinger admits, “I remain baffled at how little I was prepared for what was to come.” “It was all I could do not to cry out for the kind of mothering that I was intending to offer my lil’ one,” Alanis reflected as a new mom. “Someone who could swoop in and just DO THIS FOR ME while they pet my trembling head, while I whimpered in the corner. I remember crying out on a walk up the street, startling a dog. This dog was not easily startled. But no, this motherhood business was my call to rise to. And mine alone,” the ‘Thank You’ singer writes. “And there was no doula alive that could have reached in and taught me what I have learned through experience. There was no midwife who could show me how to grow up, warp-speed from complicated contemplative maiden to accountable matriarch. These things required months of growth and calibrating! And here I naively thought that I would arrive as a MOM at the same time as my lil’ boy arrived as a SON. The latter waaay preceded the former.”

 Faith Margaret Kidman Urban:

At the age of 40, Nicole Kidman gave birth to her first biological child, daughter Sunday Rose, in July 2008 with her country singing superstar hubby Keith Urban. The power couple didn’t stop there — on December 28, 2010 they welcomed another daughter, Faith Margaret, who was delivered via gestational carrier. “Having given birth and then being there to see my child born in that way, I felt so much love for our surrogate, gestational carrier,” Nicole said. She’s also opened up about her “roller-coaster ride with fertility.”

 Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland Bloom:

On January 6, 2011, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr welcomed their first child, son Flynn. Baby Flynn has topped the charts as a favorite new tot in Tinseltown!

“He’s a great kid. I love it.” Orlando said of his sweet son. “He’s wonderful [and] laughs more than he cries – we’re very lucky.”

[Flynn is] “the best thing I’ve ever done!,” Miranda gushed. “Every day it just gets better,” she added.

10 Celebrity Moms Pregnant Under 30

Thursday, March 15th, 2012

Celebrity Moms Under 30This post was written by our friends at Celebrity Baby Scoop.

Some say over 40 is too old for pregnancy, while others argue that under 30 is too young

Let’s take a look within Hollywood and see who has entered motherhood in their teens and 20s. From Britney Spears and her sis Jamie Lynn Spears, to moms-to-be Hilary Duff and Snooki, look through our list of 10 young Hollywood moms.

 Snooki:

In the worst-kept secret in reality TV history, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, 24, recently confirmed that she is pregnant and engaged to the father, beau of one and a half years Jionni LaValle.

And the Jersey Shore star and LaValle, also 24, know just what onlookers are thinking. “I have different priorities now,” the reformed party girl said. “I don’t care what anybody else thinks. As long as I know I’m ready and he’s ready.”

 Hilary Duff:

Disney darling Hilary Duff, 24, is expecting her first child with hockey star hubby Mike Comrie, 31. “I feel like the first pregnant woman on Earth,” Hilary said. “Every time I feel something, I’m like, ‘What is this? What’s happening?’ And I’m Googling and finding out that everyone has had the same symptoms and I’m totally not original.” The Lizzie McGuire star went on to talk about her first pregnancy. “Today I got out of the shower and one side of my stomach [was] way bigger than the other side. It was the first time that I saw the baby actually moving in there!,” she said. “It was like I had a little alien inside!”

Britney Spears:

When pop princess Britney Spears was 22, she wed her second husband Kevin Federline. At the tender age of 23, Brit gave birth to her first child, Sean Preston. Just one year later, the Oops!… I Did It Again singer welcomed her second son, Jayden James.

Brit has opened up about how motherhood has changed her life. “As a mother, the one thing that always goes through your head is, ‘You’re never enough.’ You never can be enough—or do enough—for your kids,” she said. “It’s a never-ending issue for me. I had to learn: Don’t beat yourself up so much…. You have to take it one day at a time, do the best that you can and enjoy yourself. I notice that if there are some times I’ve been stressed, because I’m human and stress about things, that affects your kids. So you have to make sure you’re a happy mom so they can be happy.”

Jamie Lynn Spears:

Not to be outdone by big sister Britney, Jamie Lynn Spears welcomed her first child at the young age of 17. The teen mom and her then-boyfriend, Casey Aldridge, welcomed daughter Maddie Briann in June 2008.

Jamie Lynn recently talked about being embarrassed at the time to reach out for birth control. “I was 16. I’d had one boyfriend. It doesn’t make it perfect or all right,” she said. “Casey was my first love,” she said. “Since the day I saw him, I just wanted to marry him and be with him forever and ever. I believe in safety and birth control as prevention. But like many young girls…I was really scared to go to the doctor. And I was on a Nickelodeon show, and it [felt] especially embarrassing to ask someone to put me on birth control. I didn’t want to ask my doctor, because she had a little girl.”

The young mom went on to say she never wanted to “glamorize teen pregnancy.” “When I found out I was pregnant, [my parents and I] decided to do an interview with OK! magazine about it. I knew I needed to give an explanation to my fans, and I wanted it to be in my words first. I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls and the mothers who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn’t trying to glamorize teen pregnancy. I hated when [the tabloids] said that. Everybody is dealt a hand of cards. It was my choice to play them the way I played them. But the hateful comments hurt. [Parent groups were outraged at the Nickelodeon star, and tabloids printed rumors that Spears had a miscarriage, that she was giving up her baby, and that Aldridge was cheating on her.] I was already upset about having to tell my parents and Casey’s parents. To have the world come down on a situation that was already affecting my family hugely was hard. But this was my situation, and I did the best I could.”

Miranda Kerr:

On January 6, 2011, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr, then 27, welcomed their first child, son Flynn. In our 4th Annual Readers’ Choice Awards, baby Flynn topped the charts as our favorite new tot in Tinseltown! [Flynn is] “the best thing I’ve ever done!,” Miranda gushed. “Every day it just gets better,” she added.
