Parents Goody Giveaway: Win $100 Shopping Spree at The Children’s Place

Tuesday, February 25th, 2014

Back in December, The Children’s Place gave us a sneak peek of their Spring stuff, and I kept a photo of two outfits on my phone through the long and dreary January and February as a promise that warm weather will come. (It’s between pictures of my Christmas tree and holiday lights!) Now all this cuteness is rolling into stores, and I am so ready!

Here are the major trends I’ve noticed not just from The Children’s Place, but all the kids stores: Lots of brights, pants with all kinds of patterns (flowers, dots, skulls, stripes, you name it), lace for girls, and camo for boys. There’s also a Mexicana theme in some girl clothes, with embroidered-looking flowers and designs. So pretty! And (maybe because I have an 8-year-old boy who still doesn’t want to deal with pants that button) I’m kind of obsessed with all the pull-on plaid shorts for little dudes. Preppy and practical!

Stock up on spring fashion for your own kiddo by entering our latest giveaway. The Children’s Place is offering ONE lucky winner a $100 gift card!

Parents Goody Giveaway: Win $100 for Cute Kids Clothes at Naartjie

Tuesday, February 18th, 2014

Getting dressed in the winter always proves to be a bit of a hassle. And bundling layer upon layer to brave the cold is especially hard on kids who can’t stop longing for the easy days of summer. Fortunately, despite the dreary weather outside, many clothing brands are now debuting spring lines to lift young spirits.

One line to check out for cute summer clothes is Naartjie Kids. Founded in 1989 in Cape Town, South Africa, the collection made its debut in the U.S. in 2001. Since that time, it’s been adding a whole lot of color and personality to kids’ wardrobes stateside. The bright dots and flower patch on this hoodie dress definitely remind us of carefree sunny days, and this robot tee makes a fun character shirt for boys.

Help your little one gear up for summer by entering our latest giveaway with Naartjie Kids. They’re offering ONE lucky winner a $100 gift card to spend on the site. To enter, leave a comment below, up to one a day between today and the end of the day February 24. More Qs about our giveaway? Read the official rules. Be sure to check back on February 25 and scroll to the bottom of the post to see who won. We reach out to winners via Facebook message (it goes into your “other” message folder on Facebook), so if you win, look for us there as well. Goody luck!

‘Out of Print’ Clothing Releases Kids’ T-Shirts Featuring Children’s Books

Monday, January 23rd, 2012

I’m a big fan of clever and unique t-shirts, especially literary-themed ones from the company Out of Print, which puts familiar and unique covers of famous classic and modern classic books on super soft tees.  (For the record, I own a gray Pride and Prejudice tee  and a white The Great Gatsby tee with an art deco design.)

As the Toddlers/Preschoolers editor at Parents.com and a fan of childen’s books, I’m excited that Out of Print launched a collection of kids’ t-shirts showcasing covers of classic and popular children’s books such as The Wizard of Oz, Charlotte’s Web,  The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Harold and the Purple Crayon, In the Night Kitchen, Sylvester and the Magic Pebble, and more.

The tees are unisex for ages 2 to 6 and cost between $22-24.  As with all Out of Print t-shirts, for each one sold, one book is donated to a community in need through Books of Africa.

Now, I’m counting down the days until these children’s books make their way onto adult-sized tees…
