5 Celebrity Moms Who Embraced Their Post-Baby Bodies

Thursday, April 10th, 2014

The urgency to lose baby weight in Hollywood is almost as serious as an Oscar win.

Who dropped the postpartum pounds the fastest? Who debuted her post-baby body on a magazine cover? How much did she gain during her pregnancy?

Celebrity moms face these and many more questions when it comes to their bodies after baby. So when we hear moms like Kate Winslet and Mariska Hargitay embracing their postpartum figures, we can’t help but celebrate with them.

Let’s take a look at 5 celebrity moms who did not focus on fast weight loss, but instead embraced the postpartum period and their post-baby bodies.

Kate Winslet

Academy Award-winning actress Kate Winslet is mom to three kids: daughter Mia, 13, and sons Joe, 10, and Bear, 4 months.

While recently promoting her new film Divergent, the actress said she’s in no rush to lose the baby weight.

“To be honest with you, after having a baby you end up being so busy with the baby and the nursing,” she said. “And I have two other children as well obviously, so there’s so much going on that the difficulty I find is remembering that you have to eat. Because when you’re nursing you really have to eat, otherwise you don’t produce anything that’s going to feed your child. So nursing’s a great excuse to eat heaps. That’s what I’ve been doing.”

“I have to say, so much attention is placed on this thing of bouncing back after a baby,” she continued. “I don’t advocate fast weight loss at all after a baby, because you are nursing, you can’t, you have to eat and you have to be well… throwing myself into some workout regimen is crazy.”

She added: “Having just had a baby, I’m not going to be thinking about my arse.”

Reese Witherspoon

Academy Award-winning actress Reese Witherspoon had great perspective after welcoming her third child, son Tennessee, in September 2012.

At just 3-months postpartum – when the media asked how she’s “bouncing back” to her pre-baby body – the Oscar-winner kept it real.

“I don’t know if I’m bouncing back. I’m slowly crawling back,” said the actress, who’s also mom to daughter Ava, 14, and son Deacon, 10.

Drew Barrymore

Currently expecting her second daughter, actress Drew Barrymore didn’t stress over losing the baby weight after welcoming her baby girl Olive in September 2012..

“I don’t worry about it,” she shared of her post-baby body. “I probably wasn’t totally in shape before I got pregnant, but I do think I’m back to where I was. Perfect for me! I take care of myself. But I’m never going to be the person who talks about diet and exercise — I would fail that conversation!”

Prior to her second pregnancy, the Blended star praised the postpartum period as “sacred,” and not a time to be focused on rapid weight loss.

“I’m still working on it, but I’m not worrying about it,” she said. “We live in a society where everyone’s like, ‘Look at how amazing she looks two weeks out [from giving birth].’ I don’t want to be on that hamster wheel; that’s hell. I’m never going to have the kind of body that makes me excited about bikini season. I’ve never had a ‘beach body.’ But I want to feel like I’m showing up and doing my best. My goal is to be nice to myself, gentle toward myself, during this process. It’s such a sacred time.”

Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson’s weight gain during her first pregnancy was one of the most talked-about topics of 2012.

The Fashion Star mentor graced the January/February 2013 cover of Weight Watchers magazine, showing off her weight loss after the May 1 arrival of her daughter Maxwell.

“I really have to separate myself from the world’s expectations and really just be healthy with myself,” Jessica shared. “I’m not a supermodel. My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel. I’m just your everyday woman.”

And although she’s a multi-millionaire and one of the world’s most beautiful women, Jessica says she’s still human and it hurts when people bashed her body.

“It’s not fun to be talked about,” she shared. “It’s not fun to be judged.”

“I never listen to it, no matter who the press talks about when they’re pregnant,” she added. “It’s ridiculous and unfair. I think any woman who is pregnant and creating a life is pretty much entitled to eat whatever she wants as long as she’s healthy. I wasn’t going to let the media take away from what was one of the happiest times in my life.”

Mariska Hargitay

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay is mom to three children: August, nearly 8, Amaya, 3, and Andrew, 2.

The actress says she not only embraces, but loves her body after baby.

“I love my curves because they scream, ‘I’m a mama!’ I’m the girl who started wearing maternity pants about an hour after I found out I was pregnant because I was so excited about becoming a mom,” she shared. “Things are sagging a bit – I’m not going to lie. But am I going to be upset about the sag or am I going to look at my three gorgeous kids and my husband and count my lucky stars?”

Jessica Simpson Guest Blog: 4 Things I Want My Kids to Know

Wednesday, October 30th, 2013

JessicaSimpsonAceBy Jessica Simpson

I’ve always wanted to be a mom. I dreamed about it and planned it since I was a little girl! The day I found out I was pregnant with my daughter Maxwell was one of the best moments of my life. Having Maxwell and now my son Ace changed my perspective completely. Suddenly, I am responsible for these little lives and want all the happiness in the world for them.

My pregnancy with Maxwell, specifically because she is a girl, made me realize that I wouldn’t be able to protect her from everything I had been through as a woman. I wonder each day how I can shield her not only from the critics in the world, but from the criticism we all dole out to ourselves. My pregnancies (especially my first with Maxwell) were well documented and my struggles with my weight and body image have played out in front of the world. As hard as that has been, the hardest part is to realize that with all the hurtful and harsh criticism from others, I have been the hardest on myself.

Raising Maxwell makes me realize that I don’t want her to see me beat myself up for things like food choices or numbers on a scale. I don’t want her to learn anything like that from me. Those things don’t determine who we are and instead make us feel terrible about ourselves. I want to teach her to value herself, listen to herself and tune out the world. I want her to know her value, rather than spending her energy fighting negative voices from within. I want to teach her to figure out what is truly right for her rather than worrying about what anyone else thinks.

Becoming a mom has helped me realize I’m actually proud of myself for a lot of the things I have done in my life. Having my kids has made me feel so much more at peace with myself. I see how loving and kind we can be to our children, while never noticing all the things we have done well ourselves.

I am happy that Maxwell and Ace will have each other to rely on in the magical way that only siblings can! I feel very complete with the two of them in my life and as they grow up I hope they remember these few things from me:

  • Build a great support system. A strong family and wonderful friends keep me headed in the right direction every day!
  • Learn to accept compliments as graciously as you give them. Don’t dismiss them – soak up the positivity and give it back as often as you can!
  • Find a partner who really supports and listens to you in the good times and the bad.
  • Be original. The world will try to fit you into a mold, but carve your own path.

Numerology of Celebrity Babies & Their Parents

Wednesday, October 16th, 2013

This post was written by our friends at Celebrity Baby Scoop.

We’ve called on numerologist Cassandra MacLeane to predict the future and nature of the top celebrity babies of the year. How do they match with their famous parents? What will their personalities be like?

Let’s take a look at some of the most high-profile couples – from Kate Middleton and Prince William, to Fergie & Josh Duhamel, to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West – and how their numerology (mis) matches their new babies. Continue reading Cassandra’s predictions below.

Kate Middleton & Prince William

The most famous parents in the world – Kate Middleton and Prince William – produced a child who could not be more king. It’s like they had planned conception and birth with the idea of producing a perfect heir to the English throne.

Kate and Wills’ son Prince George, born July 22, 2013, is an 8 Life Path baby, under the influence of the master number 22. If you think in terms of energy, this is enormous.

8 is the vibration of the organizer, the entrepreneur, the executive quality, and the person who is better at giving orders than he is at taking them, and also the person perfectly designed to create innovation and stability in the world.

However, this is a big, big personality.

The parents are of gentler life path numbers, and they will need all the help they can get raising this child to live his full potential.

22, the modifying energy in George’s chart, is a strong influence, and gives him the vibration of the master builder. There could not be a more perfect combination for a future king. The description of this chart could go on and on but it would take pages and pages.

As a numerologist, I’m not over the moon about the choice of first name, but, having said that, if there’s one thing Georges know how to do its to keep their inner feelings private. That will probably be helpful in his future role.

As to George’s parents – Kate was born January 9, 1982 giving her a resilient and charming 3 life path. Definitely the vibration of the survivor.

Kate is in an 8 cycle year, next year, when she will fully resume her duties. She will definitely be up to it under the strong energy of the cycle 8 vibration. She is presently in a 7 cycle year – very sensitive.

It’s just as well she was allowed to retreat a little, before and after the birth.

William, born June 3, 1982 is a sensitive 11 Life Path number. 11 is a master number, and should be able to relate very well to his son George who also has the master number 22 as an influence. These two will be great friends.

Fergie & Josh Duhamel

It’s always interesting when a parent produces a child who is the same Life Path as they are.

In this case Fergie, born March 27, 1975, making her a 7 life path under the influence of 9, gave birth to Axl who was born on August 29, 2013, making him a 7 life path as well.

I always tell parents that if they have a child who is the same Life Path as they are, it is important for them to love themselves because they will see themselves reflected in their child every day.

The father of this child, Josh Duhamel, born November 14, 1972, is a 8 life path person under the influence of 5.

8 life path parents are capable of a great deal of love and nurturing, especially for people in their own family. So, although he may not understand the child quite as well as the mother Fergie, he will be able to add a very practical voice to the upbringing of this little boy.

Michael Bublé & Luisana Lopilato

Michael Bublé and wife Luisana Lopilato have produced a child who will keep these two restless and creative souls occupied through all of his growing up years — and probably beyond.

Little Noah, born August 27, 2013, is a 5 life path baby, full of energy, creativity, charm, curiosity and restlessness. 5 life path people are known for their adaptability and their need to be on the move. Noah’s most powerful modifier is 9 (2+7=9). These children are known to be extremely lively and talented.

Noah will be the perfect complement to his parents. Michael is a master number 22 life path, under the influence of 9. No need to explain that great things were expected of him as a child – and he has certainly lived up to his 22 vibration in his career so far. Both artistically and financially.

22 life path people, are meant to have larger than life lives.

Luisana, though dramatic and creative, is actually the quietest energy in this family group. She is a 3 life path person under the influence of 9. Not that 3′s are quiet — in fact, they tend to be quite communicative. But in this dynamic family, Luisana will play the role of peacemaker and stabilizer and provide the glue to keep them all on track.

All three members of this family have 9 as their modifying influence, and therefore, should have a great interest in humanitarian projects.

(Just a note: Michael appeared on my radio show when he was little more than a baby himself — in his teens. At that time I took a look at his numerology and pointed out the potential of his unusual, and powerful life path. Needless to say, has not disappointed.)

Jessica Simpson & Eric Johnson

Ace, born to Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson, is a 6 life path child under the influence of 3. This child will require lots of love and nurturing and a stable family life. Little life path 6′s need the love and security of a stable family more than any other life path.

Let’s hope that Jessica, who is an 8 life path under the influence of 1, will understand how important it is to take plenty of time to nurture this child. As an 8 life path person, she is a natural entrepreneur and organizer. It will be a challenge for her to organize her life so that little Ace will get all the quality time and love he needs.

Eric, Ace’s dad, is an 7 life path person under the influence of 9. This is a very intuitive vibration. However, 7 life path people need to remember to speak their love out loud. There is a tendency for 7 life path people to be rather reserved and sometimes even seem a little cool. This doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot of passion and love under the surface.

This is a particularly interesting family, comprised of a very lovey and demonstrative baby, who is a 6 Life Path under the influence of a communicative 3.

Eric, a dad with a big heart, but some limitations on communicating his true feelings, is a 7, under the influence of 9.

And, of course, Jessica is a strong and organizing 8, under the influence of 1.

Kim Kardashian & Kanye West

Kim Kardashian, born October 21, 1980 is a 4 Life Path, and her influence or modifier is the communicating and outgoing 3 (her birthday reduced to one number). 4 and 3 are both vibrations with great communication skills and artistic talent.

Baby North is a 9 life path child, born June 15, 2013, under the influence of 6. We believe that 9 Life Path people are old souls, and that they come to earth with natural wisdom and intuition. This child will be extremely loveable throughout her life, have tons of charisma, and will have a strong need to be of service to others.

Kanye West, born on June 8, 1977, is a 2 life path person, under the influence of 8. Kanye will desire peace in his home, above all else. Peace may be a bit difficult to achieve living with such creative and naturally dramatic family members.

Shakira & Gerard Piqué

Shakira, born February 2, 1977, a 1 life path under the influence of 2.

Gerard Piqué, born February 2, 1987, is an interesting and complex 11 life path under the influence of 2. This is, of course, a master number life path.

Their son Milan was born January 22, 2013, is a 2 life path child under the influence of 22 — another master number.

This is an extremely interesting, powerful, and complex family. Gerard with his 11 Life Path is very compatible with Milan, since they both have master numbers in their charts.

Shakira, the 1 life path mother under the influence of 2, will love her baby unconditionally. She also has an important 2 influence in her chart, which will help her relate to the sensitive side of this child.

How to find your life path number?

First, reduce each unit of your birth date (month/day/year) to a single digit number or a master number (master numbers are 11, and 22). Next, add each of the resulting digits (or master numbers) together and reduce the total again to a single digit, or a master number.

For example, if you were born on October 12, 1981 you would calculate your life path number as follows:

◦ Month: October is the 10th month of the year. 10 reduces to 1 (1+0 = 1)

◦ Day: the date of birth is 12. 12 reduces to 3(1+2 = 3)

◦ The year of birth is 1981 (1+9+8+1 = 19, then 1+9 equals 10 and finally 1+0 =1

◦ Now add the resulting single digit numbers 1+3+ 1 = 5. This is a 5 life path person.

The master numbers, 11 and 22 are left intact, and they’re a little trickier to calculate.

Examples of master number people are Michael Bublé born September 9, 1975:

◦ Month: 9

◦ Day: 9

◦ The year of birth is 1975 (1+9+7+5=22) then 2+2 = 4.

◦ Now add the single digit numbers together

◦ 9+9+4 = 22

Michael Bublé is interesting in that his life path number is a master number 22, and when he reaches age 54 he will actually be even more powerful — a master number 22, under the influence of master number 22.

Now in his life he is a 22 life path person, under the influence of 9. This is a formidable energy.

It seems to be true that more 11 master number people are born than the master number 22.

This is an example of an 11 life path child. February 21, 2004:

◦ Month, February (2nd month of the year so it is expressed as a 2). Day of birth is the 21st, which reduces to 3 (1+2=3)

◦ The year of birth is 2004 (2+0+0+4 = 6)

◦ Now add the digits together and stop when you reach 11

◦ So that is: 2+3+6=11.

Master numbers are harder to calculate, but it is important not to treat an 11 as a 2, or a 2 as a 11. It is equally important to distinguish the difference between 4 and 22.

Numerology is not for sissies!

7 Celebrity Pregnancy Confessions

Thursday, September 19th, 2013

This post was written by our friends at Celebrity Baby Scoop.

While pregnancy can be a joyous time, it can also present some odd symptoms and fears.

From Jenna Dewan-Tatum‘s hormonal dreams, to Kim Kardashian‘s wacky food cravings, to Kristin Cavallari‘s delivery dilemma, let’s hear from 7 celebrity moms and their pregnancy confessions.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian and boyfriend Kanye West welcomed their first child – daughter North West – on June 15. The first-time mom admitted that pregnancy wasn’t exactly a walk in the park.

“Being pregnant is not as easy as my sister [Kourtney Kardashian] made it look or as my mom [Kris Jenner] has made it look,” she admitted.

As for her pregnancy cravings? “I’m craving carrots and ranch dressing,” she said. “I used to love sweets, I used to love chocolate, can’t even eat chocolate!”

Jenna Dewan-Tatum

Handsome couple Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Channing Tatum welcomed their first child – daughter Everly – on May 31. During her pregnancy, Jenna shared a wacky pregnancy dream.

“OK my fellow preggars ladies.. about these hormonal dreams,” she posted via Twitter. “Is it normal to fly on a magic carpet while presenting at Golden Globes?? Lol.”

Kristin Cavallari

Kristin Cavallari‘s birth plan didn’t exactly go as she had hoped when it was time to deliver Camden, her first child with Jay Cutler.

“[Childbirth] hurt like a bitch and felt like period cramps, but 10 times worse,” Kristin said.

And when it came time to deliver her son, she didn’t want her football star hubby to see the birth. “I was like, ‘You’re going to be behind me. You’re not going to see anything,’” she said. “And the nurse was like, ‘Oh, no, no. He’s going to hold your leg. I was like, ‘Oh, no he’s not.’ She was like, ‘It’s different when it’s your own.’”

Snooki

In her signature quirky style, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi gave graphic details of her son Lorenzo’s August 2012 birth.

“When my water broke, I thought it would be like [gushing],” she shared.

Snooki added: “But I was just like, peeing my pants every two seconds. I didn’t know what was going on! I couldn’t control it, and I was like ‘I think my water broke.’ I was in labor for 27 hours, but I didn’t feel anything because I got the epidural.”

Jessica Simpson

New mom-of-two Jessica Simpson accidentally revealed the gender of her second baby – son Ace Knute – in March 2013.

“The crazy thing is I never knew a wiener could make me nauseous,” Jessica quipped.

She added: “It’s a totally different pregnancy. I just feel awful, I’ve been vomiting,” said Jessica, also mom to 16-month-old daughter Maxwell with fiancé Eric Johnson.

Kristen Bell

Star couple Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard welcomed their first child – daughter Lincoln – on March 28.

“I’ve got nothing to prove” by giving birth naturally, she joked in January. “I feel like, when I arrive at the hospital, I want a glass of whiskey, I want the epidural in my back and I want to get hit in the face with a baseball bat and wake me up when it’s over because I’ve seen the videos—and it looks terrifying.”

That being said, she loved pregnancy and said her “self-esteem has never been higher.”

“I look in the mirror and I think it’s the reverse body dysmorphia,” she added, “because I can understand what my shape is, but I see Brooke Shields. And it doesn’t make a lick of sense, but it’s something that the baby’s giving me hormonally makes me feel really giggly and happy.”

Megan Fox

This is 40 star Megan Fox opened up about giving birth naturally to her son Noah Shannon.

“I was screaming for an epidural when Brian was driving me to the hospital because my water broke on its own,” the actress said of Noah’s September 27 birth“It was level orange alert pain.”

With husband Brian Austin Green by her side, Megan (currently pregnant with the couple’s second child) said the pain was “horrific.”

“It hurts so bad,” she shared. “It was so intense. And I thought I was gonna be really tough and make it, I was gonna labor to like 8 cm . . . but the first contraction that I got was horrific!”

And it sounds like the pain left no time for beautifying pre-birth.

“I had wet hair so I was trying to blow dry my hair before I went to the hospital,” she laughed. “I didn’t want to go to the hospital with wet hair!”

5 Back-to-Back Babies in Hollywood

Wednesday, September 11th, 2013

This post was written by our friends at Celebrity Baby Scoop.

They enjoyed pregnancy so much, they did it again – quickly!

We’re taking a look at Hollywood’s back-to-back baby boom. From Megan Fox, to Britney Spears, to Jessica Simpson,  see which star moms are making their kids close in age.

Megan Fox

Handsome couple Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green welcomed their first child, son Noah, on September 27, 2012.

Less than one year later (in August 2013), they announced their second pregnancy.

Brian recently admitted he’s not sure how they’ll manage juggling a toddler, a new baby, and his job on Anger Management.

“We honestly have no idea and we discuss it daily and think, ‘How are we going to do this?’” he admitted. “I think we’ll see when it happens. People do it all the time.”

But it sounds like his boss, Charlie Sheen, is more than understanding.

“I couldn’t really ask for a better situation than that,” Brian, also dad to 11-year-old son Kassius, said. “[Charlie's] one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met and worked with.”

Britney Spears

Oops, she did it again!

Pop superstar Britney Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline welcomed their two sons one year apart — almost to the day.

The couple’s firstborn son, Sean Preston, was born on September 14, 2005, and their second son, Jayden James, arrived on September 12, 2006.

Reportedly, Britney wanted to schedule her second C-section birth to coincide with Sean Preston’s birthday, but her then-husband persuaded her to move the date back a couple days.

Tori Spelling

Currently, Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott have two 1-year-olds — and they’re not twins!

One month after their third child, daughter Hattie, was born, Tori got the unexpected news that she was pregnant for the fourth time.

“The new baby was clearly unplanned but I am thrilled and I would have lots of babies if I could, I love being a mom,” Tori said at the time of her fourth pregnancy.

“All my friends keep asking me [if it was planned] and I’m like, ‘Seriously? Hattie was one month old. Do you think it was planned?’” she continued. “I was up all night with feedings.”

“The doctor said, ‘Wait six weeks [to have sex],’ and Dean was like, ‘They tell everyone that.’ We didn’t wait that long with Stella or Liam,” Tori added. “I was like, ‘Well, I don’t want him to think that the sex is going downhill,’ so now we’re on baby No. 4.”

Son Finn arrived on August 30, 2012, while Hattie was born on October 10, 2011.

Jessica Simpson

Just seven months after Jessica Simpson welcomed her first child, daughter Maxwell, in May 2012, she and fiancé Eric Johnson confirmed that baby No. 2 was on the way.

“Pregnancy is a lot,” Jessica recently shared. “It was hard to do two so close together. I have this huge sense of accomplishment, and I feel in my heart that I’m done. But obviously, accidents do happen!”

Son Ace Knute was born on June 30, 2013, and Maxwell arrived on May 1, 2012.

Celebrity Moms Talk Postpartum Weight Loss

Thursday, March 14th, 2013

This post was written by our friends at Celebrity Baby Scoop

The urgency to lose the baby weight in Hollywood is almost as serious as an Oscar win.

Who dropped the postpartum pounds the fastest? Who debuted their post-baby body on a magazine cover? How much did she gain during her pregnancy?

Some of our favorite celebrity moms – including Drew Barrymore, Jessica Simpson, and Gwyneth Paltrow – are sounding off on this buzzed about topic.

Drew Barrymore
Former child star Drew Barrymore recently sat down with talk show queen Oprah Winfrey and opened up about husband Will Kopelman and their 4-month-old daughter Olive.

“Absolutely not. I want nothing to do with that hamster wheel from hell,” Drew said of quickly dropping the baby weight to appease Hollywood’s standards.

She added: “It seems miserable. I want to be healthy enough that I feel good mentally and I don’t care what the weight is,” the E.T. star said.

Gwyneth Paltrow
Mom-of-two Gwyneth Paltrow supported her good pal, celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson, at her Pregnancy Project event in New York City last Fall.

“You can really put the pressure on yourself — I didn’t,” Gwyneth has said of shedding her postpartum pounds after giving birth to her now 8-year-old daughter Apple and son Moses, 6.

The Academy Award-winning actress said that she revelled in new motherhood and took her time to lose those last few pounds.

“I was at home in sweatpants and breastfeeding for a long time,” Gwyneth shared. “I really took my time. And when I started to want to get back into shape, I was so thankful to find Tracy.”

Tracy Anderson
Celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson recently launched her Pregnancy Project workout DVD collection, providing women with safe and effective fitness routines during the pre-and-postnatal periods.

Tracy tells Celebrity Baby Scoop that these DVDs – which she filmed during her recent pregnancy with daughter Penelope – are a “passion project” that are “really needed for women.” The fitness guru – who has an impressive client list including Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna, Molly Sims, and Christy Turlington – opened up about losing the 33 pounds she gained in just 11 weeks.

“I’ve spent thirteen years creating this fitness method for women and I use it myself, so I really credit the method for staying fit in the prenatal and postnatal stages,” Tracy shared with Celebrity Baby Scoop.

“In my first pregnancy 14 years ago, I gained 60 pounds and it was the most nightmarish thing to get off,” she added. “I was so happy to not have to worry about going into pregnancy this time; I knew what I was doing. I followed my own advice during this second pregnancy and gained around 33 pounds. I was able to lose it all in about eleven weeks.”

Jessica Simpson
Jessica Simpson’s 50-pound weight gain during her first pregnancy was one of the most talked-about topics of last year.

The Fashion Star mentor recently graced the January/February 2013 cover of Weight Watchers magazine, showing off her weight loss after the May 1 arrival of her daughter Maxwell.

“I really have to separate myself from the world’s expectations and really just be healthy with myself,” Jessica shared. “I’m not a supermodel. My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel. I’m just your everyday woman.”

And all eyes are on the singer-turned-entrepreneur again. On Christmas Day, Jessica confirmed her second pregnancy by sharing a picture of baby Maxwell with the words “Big Sis” written in the sand in front of her.

Kendra Wilkinson
Former Playboy model Kendra Wilkinson welcomed her first child, son Hank, with football star husband Hank Baskett in December 2009.

The Girls Next Door star opened up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about the media’s focus on her body during the pre-and-postnatal stages.

“The media is the media. They’re going to do what they please. I’m okay with it,” said Kendra of the constant criticism of her weight.

“I had to really look deep into myself and think more about myself,” she added. “I’m a deep thinker and there’s this thing I always think about: what if today, mirrors just went away. What if your reflection just went away? What if I had no pictures of myself? Would I feel great, would I feel pretty? And the answer is: yes I would. The mirror can play tricks on you.”
