10 Celeb Moms Celebrating Their First Mother’s Day

Thursday, May 10th, 2012

First Mother's DayThis post was written by our friends at Celebrity Baby Scoop.

Happy Mother’s Day!

In celebration of moms everywhere, let’s take a look at Hollywood’s newest matriarchs who will celebrate their first Mother’s Day on May 13. From Beyoncé, to Hilary Duff, to January Jones, look through our list of 10 celebrity moms celebrating for the first time this year.

 Beyoncé:

R&B royalty Beyoncé and Jay-Z welcomed daughter Blue Ivy on January 7, 2012. The superstar couple released a touching statement to announce the birth of their first child. “Hello Hello Baby Blue!” they stated. “We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012. Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven. She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives. We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support.”

Hilary Duff:

Disney darling Hilary Duff and hockey star Mike Comrie welcomed their first child on March 20. “Welcome to the World Luca Cruz Comrie! Tuesday evening, we became proud parents of a healthy 7 pound 6 ounce beautiful boy,” Hilary announced via Twitter. “We are overjoyed and feel like the luckiest parents in the world,” the 24-year-old actress continued. “He is surrounded by so much love!! Mom and baby are both doing extremely well.”

Two weeks after her son’s arrival, the proud new mom shared the first photo of their beautiful boy on Twitter.

Pink:

Pink and husband Carey Hart welcomed their first child, daughter Willow Sage, on June 2, 2011. After welcoming her gorgeous girl, the Grammy Award-winner said, “My life was once whiskey, tears and cigarettes. Now it’s snot, tears and the color of poop. I do miss the whiskey, though!”

“ummm i just have to say that my daughter may be the most bestest amazingest stupendoustest baby ever made in the history of the planet,” Pink gushed about her gorgeous girl via Twitter.

January Jones:

January Jones gave birth to her first child, son Xander Dane, on September 13, 2011. While the Mad Men star has remained mum on the identity of Xander’s father, she’s been open about the joys of motherhood. “I think I went back to set six or seven weeks after, so he was really little,” January said. “I had the baby and the baby nurse in their own room so I could go back and feed him every two hours. If I felt like he needed me, or if he needed to eat, or even if I just needed a squeeze because I was having separation issues, I would go back and see him. It was such a blessing that I wasn’t separated from him.”

And not to mention eating those placenta pills! “I have a great doula who makes sure I’m eating well, with vitamins and teas, and with placenta capsulation,” she said. “Your placenta gets dehydrated and made into vitamins. It’s something I was very hesitant about, but we’re the only mammals who don’t ingest our own placentas. It’s not witch-crafty or anything! I suggest it to all moms!”

Selma Blair:

Cruel Intentions star Selma Blair and partner Jason Bleick welcomed their first child, son Arthur Saint, on July 25, 2011. And like most first-time moms, Selma admits she’s “really obsessed” with her sweet son. “I never want to leave his side,” she said. “I’m one of those hovering mothers and I know it’s really important to have an independent child, so I’m trying to back off, but it’s hard. I love him so much, and he’s so funny and cute to me.”
