American Baby’s Baby Booty: Win a Vermont Creamery and Zutano Prize Package Worth $150

Thursday, July 18th, 2013

Very good things come from Vermont. Cheese (which I craved like a crazy person when I was pregnant) and Zutano’s cute cotton clothes (which I dressed both of my babies up in) are two of the things that come to mind. That’s my new niece, below, sporting a Zutano dress at only one month old! She’s a little one, and I love that Zutano has tiny newborn sizes, and even tinier preemie sizes if you’ve got an early bird.

We can give away both cheese and cute clothes this week, because the Vermont Creamery reached out to use about their Kids & Kids campaign, which is all about goat cheese…it is less allergenic than cow’s milk, which is why some toddlers are given goat’s milk instead of cow’s milk to drink. And tots may also respond better to goat cheese than some cow’s-milk cheeses. Get it? Kids (human) and kids (of the goat kind) go together. Read Dr. Alan Greene’s take on goat milk for more info!

Leave a comment below, up to one a day between now and the end of the day on Wednesday, July 24th, and you have the chance to win a $75 Zutano gift card to buy your little one some adorable outfits. And once your baby’s all dressed up in the new gear, you can go on a picnic with a Vermont Creamery Gift Basket. The basket includes six flavored goat cheeses, a  “In a Cheesemaker’s Kitchen” Cookbook and a Vermont Creamery cooler bag. The whole shebang is worth $150!

Here is where you can read the official rules. Goody luck!

Congratulations to our winner Doris Blouin!

‘Out of Print’ Clothing Releases Kids’ T-Shirts Featuring Children’s Books

Monday, January 23rd, 2012

I’m a big fan of clever and unique t-shirts, especially literary-themed ones from the company Out of Print, which puts familiar and unique covers of famous classic and modern classic books on super soft tees.  (For the record, I own a gray Pride and Prejudice tee  and a white The Great Gatsby tee with an art deco design.)

As the Toddlers/Preschoolers editor at Parents.com and a fan of childen’s books, I’m excited that Out of Print launched a collection of kids’ t-shirts showcasing covers of classic and popular children’s books such as The Wizard of Oz, Charlotte’s Web,  The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Harold and the Purple Crayon, In the Night Kitchen, Sylvester and the Magic Pebble, and more.

The tees are unisex for ages 2 to 6 and cost between $22-24.  As with all Out of Print t-shirts, for each one sold, one book is donated to a community in need through Books of Africa.

Now, I’m counting down the days until these children’s books make their way onto adult-sized tees…

Stella McCartney Kids Clothes Launches

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

Stella McCartney Kids Military JacketWho says you can’t afford designer kids clothes? Dress your child in a colorful, detailed, and eco-friendly wardrobe from the Stella McCartney Kids collection.  A year after McCartney created a successful capsule collection for Gap Kids, she launched her own collection today to dress babies through 12-year-olds.  Like her own clothing designs for adults, the kids clothes are completely vegan and organic.

Prices for babies’s clothes range from $20-$78 while prices for older kids’ clothes range from $30-$145.  Most of the clothes are also unisex, with older girls and boys sharing the same plaid shirts, sweaters, and jackets (including a fantastic military jacket, the most expensive piece at $145).  Not only will your child become a snappy dresser, but your purchase of a “Leo Sweatshirt” also ensures a donation to an environmental charity.
