Solange Knowles — singer, actress, and younger sister of Beyonce — and DKMS released a new PSA today encouraging people to register as bone marrow donors to help blood cancer patients. “Blood cancer kills more children in the US than any other disease,” says Knowles in the video. Mother to 7-year-old Juelz and a soon-to-be aunt, Knowles wants to help find cures for children who are suffering.
Watch Knowles’ PSA below and visit GetSwabbed.org to find out how to become a donor today.
The limited-edition kids tee costs $25 in stores and online (online shipping costs are waived) and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), a non-profit organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research.
This tee was inspired by a 2-year-old boy named Milo who passed away from leukemia in 2010. To entertain and comfort him during treatment, his mother read one book each night from “An Awesome Book” series by Dallas Clayton. Clayton designed the unisex t-shirt to support cancer research and to remind kids to be victorious in overcoming any obstacles.
