American Baby’s Baby Booty: Win a Gilt.com Easter Basket Worth Hundreds of Dollars!

Easter is kind of a big deal in our house. Honestly? It’s our biggest party of the year. We have an open house for about 30 guests, including a fleet of kids, who pose for an annual Easter portrait on our stoop. (Like the one from last year, below!)

A coworker asked if I do an Easter-egg hunt and I had to admit, “only sometimes.” Mostly I mark the holiday with cute outfits for Grace, now 10, and Joe, now 7. And big Easter baskets for them as well. For that reason, I was pretty psyched to learn that there’s an entire Easter-specific Gilt.com sale. It went live this week and is filled with photo-ready clothes and stuff that any Easter Bunny would be happy to give! (And all at good discounts, since that’s the Gilt way!)

The sale stays up until Easter at the end of March. But if you want to try your luck at a most-fabulous giveaway, then leave a comment below, up to one a day between now and the end of the day on Wednesday, March 6. We’ll pick two random winners, and Gilt.com will give one lucky duck a girl-themed basket worth $561 (with Giddy Giddy hair clips, a tea set from Alex Toys, and much more), and another a boy-themed basket worth $425 (with a Tom and Drew bow tie, set of bunny masks from Mahalo, and much more). No complaining, moms of boys: We all know their stuff costs less than those frilly girl things. Both baskets have the cute “Hoppy Easter” banner, which sells on the site for $35. Which reminds me, maybe I will do more in the way of decorating and activities this year. Any suggestions for how to pull off an indoor Easter-egg hunt that doesn’t turn into a wild stampede? Or is chaos the point? Leave a comment and help me out, and also maybe win a glorious amount of Gilt.com Easter treats. To that end, also tell us whether you have a little girl, boy, or both. Click here to read our full rules. Goody luck!

For the indoor Easter egg hunt, try hiding about 20 or so eggs for each age group! That way, it’s not so chaotic and the younger kids aren’t getting trampled by the older kids! :)

I have a little girl, and we would really enjoy winning the Easter basket :)

I have one of both, but my baby girl is only 8 months. My son is 2 1/2 and would enjoy everything a lot more. In door Easter egg hunts are tricky. It all depends on the amount of space you have and the number of children

This year is very tight for my family. As a single mom, I usually try to make my daughter an Easter basket every year, just so it’s more personal! This year, we will enjoy going to church an maybe a chocolate bunny because of no money :/

I have a 3 year old little girl.

My suggestion for an indoor Easter egg hunt would maybe be to do a scavenger hunt type thing. But each kid gets their own clues. That’d be fun :)

I have been doing indoor easter egg hunts for my kids and I usually put things in the little plastic eggs and hide them around the house. They wake up with a basket of their own to go start collecting! I have two girls and a boy so either would work for me!

For an indoor Easter Egg hunt without the chaos n crying over who found more eggs etc. We count the eggs before hiding and every kid is given the same number of eggs they get to find. If there’s special shaped eggs with money in em they each get to find one. The older kids help the little kids after they are done (which they seem to love more then finding em themselves). Also the older kids are asked to get the higher up eggs and leave the ones lying out in the open for the little kids. Worked every year for us no tears or chaos n we do this with 5 cousins included in the hunt!
I love Gilt and ooh would My daughter love the goodies!

We have a son and actually don’t celebrate Easter (we’re Jewish) but my mom did buy me an Easter basket once when I was a kid — they were personalizing them at the mall and we were there with our Presbyterian friends. I always did love hunting for the plastic candy-filled Easter eggs at friends’ houses though!

We also love easter! We organize a night time easter egg hunt–my twin girls (8) and oldest daughter (11)had grown out of the run around crazy so everyone brings 10 filled eggs, we hide them and at night we hunt–with a flashlight. It is much slower paced–you could step on them if not careful– and much more fun!

    On February 28, 2013 at 11:14 am

My daughters, 9 and 3, love Easter. Last year we decoupaged styrofoam eggs with Easter napkins and hung them up on an indoor artificial tree. We don’t have to put them up this year because they never came down. The tree stayed all year in the 3-year-old’s room.

We would always make the kids line up by age and let the littlest go first. Once they have their first egg, the next one in line gets to go. this way the little ones don’t get trampled by the big kids. We’ve also had a few years where we’ve told every kid they can only find X number of eggs – thus limiting some of the running and scrambling, since everyone knows they’ll get the same number as everyone else. And always count the eggs you hide – you don’t want to be finding chocolate eggs in August!
Would love to win the little girl basket!

We have three girls we do the hunt thing but we hide eggs and the basket. We also usually go to an outside Easter egg hunt some where in our community. Thanks for a chance to win that awesome Easter Basket. My girls would flip if we won!

I always try to teach my son that there is a bigger meaning to all these holidays than candy and presents, but at the same time I do not want Easter to become too “deep” for him to the point where he cannot enjoy it.

For indoors we did a scavenger hunt with clues to actually find the baskets. For the small kids, I’d do some eggs in easy-to-find places. Great giveaway!

I’d set up some snacks for the adults {so they can enjoy themselves while the kids are having fun}. For the older kids, I’d pick one or two colored/styled eggs that can be used as a bigger prize eggs. For ex: if the kids find a pink egg, they will receive a special prize such as a toy, book, or candy, etc.

For the younger kids, I’d make them their own certain hiding places to look. For ex: 2 bedrooms! That way it is fair & everyone has fun :)
