American Baby’s Baby Booty: Win a BabyBjörn
Since they won the coveted title of favorite baby carrier in our American Baby Bests Awards, 
I looked forward to seeing the BabyBjörn folks this past week at the ABC trade show, a big industry event held this year in Louisville, KY. It’s always a treat to see all the colors and variations of the BabyBjörn in one place! Their new-for-2013 colors are shown here, raspberry and light blue.
Three things you may not know about BabyBjörn carriers: One, they’re named after their founder, Björn Jakobson, whose first product invention was a bouncer seat. (He moved on from there to baby carriers, which won him a lot more fame.) Two, Björn’s wife, Lillemor, is still the head designer. She and her husband have been running their company for more than 50 years now, so they are no spring chickens, but they’re as spirited as ever. (Check out this video fashion show about the history.) And finally, the BabyBjörn fabrics are Oeko-Tex certified, which is basically the European standard for “green.”

I wear my baby pretty much all the time… I stay at home, so I wear her at home… I also wear her to walk about 1/2 a mile to get her big sister from the bus stop — Big sister just started school this year!

We bought a baby carrier before our baby was born and have since realized we should have spent the money and got a good one. We try to wear her when we go out for walks so she isn’t always in the stroller but she just isn’t comfortable and neither is mom and dad!

I would love to be able to use a carrier with my daughter instead of always using the stroller. I have a cheap Walmart one and it is not comfy! I also am expecting our 2nd child and would love to use it with him when he gets here. Would love to use it everywhere and at the upcoming Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo at the end of January.

I would where my baby everywhere I go! I would love to take the carrier, baby and diaper bag with me and be hands free! I tend to trek in the subway going from one borough to another and the stoller really holds me back. With a carrier I would not need to depend on a kind stranger to help me down the subway stairs or drag the stoller down giving my baby a bumpy ride.

I love my bjorn! We still use it for our 12 month old and will probably be able to for a few more months (he doesn’t even weigh 20lbs yet – he’s not much of an eater
) And with another baby on the way already, it would be nice to have another for my husband to use! I’ve used it all over, just for walks outside, at the mall, at the airport and even at a baseball game! He fell asleep in it, despite all of the cheering and fireworks

Our 4 month old is just old enough and we just started taking her on nature walks in the park we would love to be able to take her off the regular paths and watch her giggle and smile at all of the sights! We have a moby but it doesn’t work as good for baby facing out or for hikes when its hot… and its hot where we live! Also, my husband hates the moby but would love to wear our baby…

My son and my first goes everywhere in his current carrier. We cook, clean, shop and go hiking. The current carrier rubs his little face despite my modifications and hurts my back and shoulders after about 20 minutes. I have heard great things about the Baby Bjorn . I wear her ever time we go shopping. Either grocery shopping or a trip to the mall. My daughter canʻt stay still in the wagon and too many people get too close when sheʻs in her stroller, so it is a lifesaver! And the fact that I do this all on my own makes it so much easier to shop!

My daughter, Little Miss Olivia, would absolutely love it if her mommy could wear her around everywhere! I’m pregnant right now. With my first child, I had an off-brand baby carrier that was passed down to me. I only had a convertible car seat, so I used the baby carrier everywhere I went out of the house. For me it was the easiest way to move around and get things done (and be close to my baby at the same time). The old baby carrier is getting too old and was probably passed on to another family by now, so I would love to have a brand new BabyBjorn!
