American Baby’s Baby Booty: Who Wouldn’t Want a Nap Nanny?

Looks comfy!

We see a lot of products dreamed up by frustrated parents, but one that I keep going back to is the Nap Nanny. A mom in Pennsylvania had a daughter who didn’t want to sleep anywhere but in her car seat or swing. It’s such a common story, but this was the first woman I ever met who got so fired up about it, she designed, and then manufactured, a new kind of baby product. (TRUST me, that is a huge investment of time, money, and sanity!) Her Nap Nanny doesn’t have to replace a bouncer seat and it’s not meant to go into a crib (ever! It must live on your floor). It’s a sleep spot for all those babies out there who can’t or won’t sleep flat on their back.

Of course, you don’t know if you have THAT kind of baby until you have one, right? But if you do, or if your baby suffers from reflux and you’re looking for a comfy spot to sit him in (especially after feedings), this could be a lifesaver for you. Check out all the testimonials at NapNanny.com.

And pssst, we keep one around here for photo shoots because let me tell you, it makes taking cute pictures of a young baby pretty easy! In fact, Sandra Bullock’s son Louis made his big photo debut in People magazine sitting in a Nap Nanny.

Want to try it out? The folks from Nap Nanny will give one of seat, valued at $129, to one person (chosen at random) who comments at this post. How about you tell us where your baby likes to sleep? And while we’ve got you…how about you vote for your favorite bouncer, swing, and crib over at our American Baby Bests polls? (No Nap Nanny on our polls this year, but maybe its time will come!) You can post here once a day between now and the end of the day on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. You can read the full rules here. Goody luck!

My 1st born loved to nap in our arms, as soon as we put her down in her bassinet or crib she would wake up! It was hard to get things done. I am expecting baby #2 in June and would love to have a nap nanny! I have heard so many wonderful things about it and I am sure it would make nap time much better this time around!

My daughter is 4 weeks today, and only gets real sleep when being held with her knees crunched up. The second we lay her flat on her back she starts crying and grunting (and will grunt all day long). As a first time mom i’ve heard many wonderful things about the nap nanny. If finances were better, you bet I would have invested in one by now!

Really wish this had been around for my first daughter. She had severe acid reflux, was on medicine from 3 months to 4 years & even underwent many tests including biopsies trying to figure out her condition. It was a nightmare!! We would dearly love to win this! It’s such a thoughtfully designed product.

Our firstborn suffered from reflux and a product like this would have made him so much more comfortable. If we would have had this with him, it would have given us the freedom to get a few things done around the house after feeding him, while having the peace of mind that we could see him right there next to us and know that he was in a proper position to prevent the reflux issue.

    I hope we win!

my baby truly loves to sleep in her daddy’s arms..for some reason no tricked out crib or swing set can get her to dreamland quicker..hopefully the nap nanny will help.

I have a daughter who is just over two and a son who is almost 3 months. I’ve found that when my little girl was a baby and got congested that she would sleep much better when propped up, which meant me and my husband taking turns holding her all night and sometimes all day. Well my little boy seems to be the same. I need sleep and so does my husband. I would love to win this so my baby, hubby and me can get a better nights rest :)

Need sleep, fussy baby, please please let me win!!
Between allergies and ear infection, I would absolutely love to get this. Currently my baby spends several nights propped in his carseat just so he doesn’t start coughing. This mom is a genius!

I am currently expecting my fourth and would LOVE to win a Nap Nanny!! I have my hands full with a 13 yr old, 5 yr old, and a 2 yr old, so having something for my new baby to nap in would be amazing!
