“Hush Little Baby” – I often find myself singing it to my 5 month old but I don’t know the real words so I make stuff up as I go along to the beat:)

My favorite lullaby is the wordless tune my husband made up when our first was a newborn. He still sings it to them at night, and I wrote it into a flute/piano solo which is in the process of publication.

But if I have to choose one that’s already published, I’d go with Jeanne Cotter’s “Child of the Moon.”

I love “Rockaby Baby” I sang it to all of my nieces and now I sing it to both my toddler and my unborn baby.

“Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” Its an original and babies are very familiar with the cute and soothing lyrics. Without the lyrics the music and chimes are very calming as well. Just thinking of the night sky and the twinkling stars makes me feel all warm and comfy inside :-)

My favorite is Morningtown Ride. I’ve heard it done by Raffi and by The Seekers.

I love the song that Dumbo’s mom sings to him in the Disney movie I think it is called “Baby of Mine.”

I’ve never been much of a Twihard, but I love the version of Bella’s lullaby on a random lullaby download from Itunes (with van gogh’s starry night as the cover). It is hauntingly beautiful.

I have to say “You are my Sunshine”…. my husband heard it all the time as a little boy and it is the sweetest thing to hear him singing it to our kids now! :)

“Baby Mine” from Dumbo. I became familiar with it from Allison Krauss’ beautiful version. I did always change the words from “You’re not much, goodness knows” to “You’re so much, goodness knows”…that may not make sense, but I wasn’t going to sing to my babies that they “weren’t much”! :)

My favourite lullaby is when my 2 year old son Kase sings his lullaby to my 5 month old. “Go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep, Asher…” It is just beautiful!!!

My mom always used to sing “Tura-Lura-Lura” (probably spelled wrong) and my grandmother would sing a make-up song about all of the people who loved me.
