Should You Ditch Your Diet Coke?
That’s the question raised by research that came out last week linking diet soda consumption to a higher risk of stroke. No one, researchers included, are saying this is a straight case of cause-and-effect, but this isn’t the first time diet soda has been in the hot seat. Past studies have concluded that people who regularly drink it have a higher chance of developing pancreatic cancer than those who don’t.
I don’t think any of us can really argue with the larger point here: Diet soda certainly isn’t good for you. And I say this as a Diet Coke lover. I have roughly one per day, and would have an enormously difficult time cutting it out altogether. But I’ll keep an eye on the research, that’s for sure.Add a Comment
