Knit a Cap and Save a Life
Looking to give back this time of year? Break out the knitting needles and crochet hooks and join Save the Children’s Caps for Good project, a grassroots cause dedicated to saving newborn lives around the world.
From now through February 2011 you can join the ranks of celebs like Academy Award nominee Vera Farmiga (pictured above with newborn baby daughter, Gytta) in helping babies like Juana Griselda Felix de Leon from Guatemala (also pictured and wearing a cap knit by Vera) stay warm and healthy. Simply lend a hand by creating a cap and you’ll help reduce newborn deaths in developing countries.
Download the Caps for Good Actions Kit with free patterns and more ways to get involved. All handmade caps will be sent to select countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America and be distributed to a new mother and her baby.
