Children’s Health Month:
October is Children’s Health Month, and the EPA has planned a whole month of events for you and your children to enjoy. Teach your children about how they can protect themselves from environmental health hazards–and how they can take care of themselves and the environment. Each day this month, take part in an activity with your child–or introduce your child to a fun health game.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month:
Earlier this week, Goody blogger Diane Debrovner posted about the importance of making a difference this month–and five ways to do it. We urge you to get involved, whether it’s registering for a race, buying products that give back, or educating yourself about breast cancer. So tell us, how do you make a difference? We asked our Facebook fans this question. Jessica Porntono-Currin says, “I am saving all my lids from my yogurt. According to the company it will donate 10 cents for every lid sent in.” And Jaynee Solomon says, “I’ve raised over $2,300 for the Susan G Komen three-day walk. In 16 days I will walk 60 miles in Atlanta.” Leave a comment on this post to let us know how you’re helping out and why Breast Cancer Awareness Month is important to you. We’d love to hear!
Shameless Self Promotion:
The anticipation of Halloween is here, and so is the new Parents Carve-a-Pumpkin app for iPhones and iPads. Your child (or you!) can pick one of five pumpkins and carve it freehand or with a library of wacky eyes, noses, and mouths. The app is $.99 at the iTunes store.
