Enter A Kids’ Art Contest

AAP art contestNeed an afternoon activity for your big kid? Encourage him or her to draw a picture about the hazards of cigarettes and enter the American Academy of Pediatrics’ 6th Annual Art Contest. This year’s theme is “Protecting the World’s Children from Tobacco and Secondhand Smoke.” The contest is open to kids in three groups: grades 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. First-place winners get a trip to San Francisco (for the award ceremony) and $500 in cash (and an additional $500 for their school). To enter, children should send original artwork by July 30 to: Children’s Art Contest, American Academy of Pediatrics, 141 Northwest Point Blvd., Elk Grove Village, IL 60007.
