Goody Green: Earth Day Play

uncommongoodsHopefully by now you know that this Thursday, April 22nd is the 40th anniversary of Earth Day! Which is why there’s no better time than now to take the initiative to teach your child the importance of being green and living a healthy, sustainable, cleaner lifestyle. Here to help are countless children’s books, online activities, educational websites, and games, like The “One Bin, Two Bin, Green Bin, Blue Bin” Eco Recycling game (right) from Uncommon Goods, that are all about helping the planet and are loads of fun too! But despite these totally cool tools and inventive products, we all need to remember that parents themselves are naturally equipped (no pun intended!) to pass along earth-friendly values to the next generation simply living the life. (Of course the fun earth-friendly stuff definitely doesn’t hurt the cause.) So this Earth Day don’t stress yourself about what you need to have/buy/get to teach your kids to save the world. Instead, focus on the little things that you can still change in your life. Or, as Ghandi so elloquently put it, “be the change you want to see in the world.” And your kids will watch, learn, and follow.
