Friday Night Movies
This Week’s Big-Screen Goody:
Next to all the movies in 3-D, 2010 might best be known as the year of the ’80s Cult Classic Remakes, from Karate Kid to Tron. One of my favorite fantasy films from childhood gets its big-screen update today, complete with flashy new special effects and 3-D, of course. But I’m still debating if I’ll see Clash of the Titans (rated PG 13). Half of the fun of the original movie was watching it in all its campy, cheesy, somewhat lame ’80s glory. Plus, Harry Hamlin and his Farrah Fawcett-like ‘do were kind of pretty. But it probably doesn’t matter much anyway; your child will most likely beg you to see Miley Cyrus in her new film, The Last Song (rated PG).
P.S. Which ’80s film do you want to see revamped for theaters?
