Have you ever texted while driving?
I have. I’m flat-out ashamed to admit it. I know better. I’m a mom. And a health editor. I’ve done it, but I don’t anymore.
You don’t need me to use this space to get into why none of us should be texting or talking on our cell phones or trying to do anything else while we drive but drive. You know the reasons why. But I am going to suggest this: Take the quiz at this new driver distraction web site, created by the guys behind NPR’s “Car Talk” show. It’ll point out things you’re doing while you drive that you may not have thought were especially dangerous, like flipping through your CDs with one hand on the wheel, or grasping for something out of your reach. (Can I put the blame here on my children, who are the reasons I’ve been known to do these things? Didn’t think so.)
The quiz (and its results) is an eye-opener. I’ll share my score if you share yours…
