Friday Night Movies

AliceWThis Week’s Big-Screen Goody:

If you or your kids are into dark, fantastical movies based on dark, fantastical children’s books, this is the week for you. The live-action version of  Where the Wild Things Are is on DVD, and one of my personal childhood faves, The Neverending Story, is finally on Blu-Ray. And of course, the big one is Disney’s  Alice in Wonderland (rated PG), which is opening into theaters today. Inspired by the Lewis Carroll classic, this live-action film will give your family a chance to fall into the rabbit hole with Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, and other fab actors. Warning: As with many of Tim Burton’s family films, though, it might be a little too creepy for some kids.
