Our family was visiting the Island of Kauai, Hawaii, in November 2009 for my son’s wedding. This family group also included our three year old grandson, Jacob. One afternoon, we were touring the island and listening to the local radio station. The weather report for the week was very high tides/waves due to an approaching storm. Not having heard the weather report for most of the time we were there, I made the comment, “wonder where that is coming from?” (referencing the storm location), and my grandson, without skipping a beat, said “from the radio!”. Needless to say, we were hysterical!!

Today, I was telling my 7-soon-to-be-8-year-old-son, Nathaniel about his late grandfather. I told him he was a doctor. Then I said: “I would have loved to meet him” and he quickly responded, with a serious look on his face: “no, mommy, don’t say that, because if you meet him, you would have nightmares, cause he is dust now”

My 10 year old went to the church with my parents while they set up the flowers for the service the next day. While they were doing their job she sat down at the piano and started to play. She takes lessons and both the teachers piano and ours at home are electric. She yelled out to my parents, ” Someone left the piano turned on!”

My 3 year old, Brooke and I were headed out to pick up dinner. I ask if she would be treating and she said, “No mommy I spent all my money.” I asked her where she spent it and she said, “In my bank.” I told her that she’s saving, not spending. She respond, “Yes mommy, I’m saving my money’s lives.”

When my daughter was 3 she was having some trouble going number 2. So we used a little Vaseline on her bottom to move things along. It worked. So later that evening she had to go again and said “mom I need to poop, can you go get some Ass-a-lean”
