We Can’t Make This Up

88_m_2
I don’t know how to talk this one up, so I’ll just come right out with it: Cuddly Pee and Poo Toys. From the website:

So what’s the deal with Pee&Poo?…"The soft cuddly toys Pee&Poo elegantly integrate form and function in a playful and disarming manner". Their design idiom not only appeals to children but also flirts with the adult designer toys market. Pee&Poo address the taboo-surrounded subject of bodily functions in an amusing, yet aesthetic manner. As it turned out, Pee&Poo can also be used in parenting contexts such as traditional potty training.

Perhaps I’ll get it when I’m a dad. Till then, I’ll file this under OMGWTFBBQ. When cartoon representations of human excreta start blowing kisses at me, it’s time to shut off the computer.

OMG! This is something I would buy for my husband to display on his desk at work for all the other sicko’s he works with to see! Not for my kids! My gawd I have boys and they would bring them everywhere! I can hear my friends commenting behind my back already…

do we really want to teach toddlers that pee and poo are PLAYTHINGS?

Wow. I’m not sure what to think here. They are cute & could possibly help with potty training, but if my daughter sticks them in her mouth (like she does with everything these days) what kind of a reaction am I going to have? I guess I could take pictures of it & use them for future (teenage) blackmail… ;)

Have to give them points for guts, though. I would never try to sell the same product as both a child’s toy AND a sex toy. ESPECIALLY one resembling excrement.

…or maybe “adult toy just means something different to me…

Judy: I’m right there with ya. My wife and I don’t get it. Sorry. Maybe when we have our kid we’ll think that pee and poo can be “cute.” It just hasn’t happened yet.
Amy: As far as “adult toy,” I think you may have unintentionally combined “adult wear” and “plush toys.” At least I hope so. Yuck. I think I need a shower.

What do you mean “teach toddlers” that they’re playthings? They already are. Anything is a plaything; anything goes.
Those plushies are really cute, and I would buy them.

I work in a day care. You don’t need to teach children to play with their pee and poo….they already try to do it. Yuck!!

I don’t think being a parent will help you understand these, either. I saw them somewhere and I just can’t imagine what they were thinking.

melanie: I know! I wrote it myself! But John didn’t and so I saw it go up, I debated taking it down but then I thought: Let’s let them have their day in the sun again! I was wondering if anyone noticed. You get the eagle eye reader award :)

I don’t care what anyone says….this is nasty! Helps potty train?! You have got to be kidding! I’m disgusted just thinking someone would show this to their kids to use it as a potty training technique.

Um yeah, I’m very glad that some of us disgust you then! JD, get over yourself. Lighten up, these are plush toys, not the real thing, although there is plenty of that to go around. Bodily functions are not nasty; they are part of us, and I love to pee and poop as a healthy living being.

wow, i’ve never thought anything that comes out of the body should ever be turned into any type of toy. especially poop. this is complete opposite of cute. as far as potty training goes, i’ll take my chances of not coaxing my daughter with poop puppets. eww.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I think they are hysterical and if I had them, would have Hope play w/ them in places like church, the doctor’s office, etc. lol!!! Oh and Grandma’s for sure!
