Has the switch to daylight Saving time wreaked havoc in your house? I know my boys and I are sure feeling it. Everyone is t-i-r-e-d! That’s why I had to laugh when I saw the new book, I Dare You Not to Yawn, sitting on my shelf this morning. And, reading the book, I continued to chuckle. Author Helene Boudreau’s title is an amusingly sweet take on the classic I-don’t-want-to-go-to-bed tale. The big-eyed narrator, illustrated by Serge Bloch, gives a plethora of tips on things to avoid when you’re trying not to yawn: huggable stuffed animals, cozy pjs, sleepy-time songs, and more (note there’s no mention of time changes!). Because yawning leads to being tucked in to bed. And we all know we don’t want that—unless it’s the week after daylight saving time.
