Looks like Kate Middleton is just about out of the woods.
The Duchess of Cambridge — whose second pregnancy was confirmed by the Palace rather early, due to the condition known as hyperemesis gravid arum (or acute morning sickness) — has just emerged from her first trimester. The royal baby is due in April!
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in April 2015,” the Palace announced in a statement. “The Duchess of Cambridge continues to be affected by hyperemesis gravidarum, but her condition is steadily improving.”
As she glides into her second trimester, the princess mama-to-be has a lot to look forward to. First, it’s likely her morning sickness will, as the Palace noted, begin to subside.
Second, she’ll likely start to show, and her noticeable bump will allow strangers to offer her subway seats, or to cut in bathroom lines. Oops, sorry! I was thinking of mere mortals in their second trimester.
Beyond that, Kate will be in that sweet spot between first-trimester uncertainty (it’s the most common time for pregnancies to end in miscarriage) and nausea, and third trimester physical discomfort and limited mobility. She’ll likely be comfortable enough to move around and travel (in fact, she’s resuming her engagements, including the Singapore Prime Minister’s state visit tomorrow). So how about a royal babymoon with Will?
Overall, you might call the second trimester the best part of pregnancy — a time many moms-to-be are most able to enjoy carrying their babies. So here’s to you in your second trimester, Kate! We can’t wait to meet baby number two this sping.

Is it just me, or does pregnancy play around with your sense of time? The first trimester feels pretty normal, the second moves at warp speed, and the third? Well, it slogs along like a chain gang on its way to the gulag.
In what can only be described as a flash of genius, one savvy expectant couple compressed their entire nine-month journey into a six-second Vine video that’s already received over 9 million views. Even though it’s over almost as soon as it begins, the video titled “The 9 Month Vine” was a real labor of love for Ian Padgham and wife Claire Pasquier. Padgham, who creates Vines for various brands, asked Pasquier to stand in the same spot in the bathroom each month while he captured two frames of video, reports Yahoo! News. He spliced the shots together to create one awesome video. And the Vine has a happy ending, of course — the final second or two shows the new mom cradling her newborn. Aww.
Check out the entire Vine video below:

Whether you were a fan of Laguna Beach and The Hills or not (both were my guilty pleasures that I didn’t feel that guilty about watching!), you have to admit that Kristin Cavallari always looks effortlessly chic unlike most other MTV reality stars. Her beachy locks, golden glow, enviable wardrobe—it’s hard to believe she ever feels unsexy.
Well, the mom of 17-month-old Camden and soon-to-be baby #2 (with football hubby Jay Cutler), says when you’re pregnant “you just feel gross”. She told In Touch that she lives in leggings. “I need to get it together and maybe put in a little effort to feel better about myself.” Um, hello, leggings are a pregnant woman’s best friend. There’s no shame in that!
You need to embrace your baby-making inner goddess even when you get pregnancy acne, the frizzies, or pass a little gas (oops!). You’ve got a baby percolating in there, and that gives you a free pass on all of the not-so-glamorous parts that go along with the whole “miracle of childbirth” thing. Own it!
Kristin also confessed that she is tired…all the time! Welcome to the club! “It gets better after the first trimester, but it never really goes away,” she said. Cut yourself some slack, girl. Running around after one child—with a bump—and working too, that is absolutely exhausting. And from my perspective, you’re looking amazing while doing it!
You could use a pep talk from Drew Barrymore. Check out what she says about pregnancy self-esteem here.
