Olivia Wilde Clearly LOVES Pregnancy!

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2014

You can always count on Olivia Wilde to tell it like it is. After all, she recently tweeted: “People who confuse surprise births of 9 pound babies with gas pains should really consider adjusting their diets.” So of course she’s equally outspoken about one of her favorite things about being pregnant: finally having cleavage! “I’m like, double D, hello! I’ve never been in this section of the bra store! I’ve been flat-chested my whole life, so it’s a wonderful new world,” she professed to Lucky magazine.

On a more serious note, the mama-to-be, who’s expecting a baby boy on May 4 with funny fiancé Jason Sudeikis, seems to love her growing body, especially her baby bump. “I just thought, Oh I’m going to hide this forever,” she tells the magazine. “But I ended up getting kind of excited to show the bump, as a badge of pride, like, ‘I’m a woman! Look at me making a human! I am a goddess!’”

Being pregnant has been a bonding experience for the star, too, making her feel “connected to women” and, of course, her growing babe. “He’s moving around in there and no one else can tell—it’s a little secret friendship,” she says.

Trust me, Olivia, that friendship with your little buddy will get even stronger once he’s born! The moment you meet your son, you will fall truly, madly, deeply in love with him, and he’ll be cracking you up and making you smile in no time—after all, with you and Jason as parents, comedy has to be in his genes!

And the Best Dressed Bump at the Oscars Goes to…

Monday, March 3rd, 2014

Kerry Washington! The Scandal star wins Everything Pregnancy’s Preggy Award for the most stunning, effortlessly gorgeous mama-to-be. Where do I start? The Old Hollywood glamour of the half-up coif, the berry lips, the eye-catching eye makeup, subtle Jennifer Meyer sparkle, and a beautiful, belly-skimming Jason Wu gown in violet—it doesn’t get any better than Kerry!

Best Makeup: Olivia Wilde
The actress—who is set to go back to work two months after she delivers her baby—was positively polished as if she was channeling Audrey Hepburn in a simple-yet-chic black column Valentino gown, romantic updo and—the reason Olivia wins this category—amazing cat eyes. Meow!

Best Accessory: Elsa Pataky
And, no, I’m not talking about Elsa’s Graziela Gems earrings and blinged-out bracelet by Dana Rebecca Designs! Elsa is a gorgeous and glowing pregnant gal (who is carrying twins!), and she looks even better with her equally-hot hubby, Chris Hemsworth, by her side (but who wouldn’t?!). They’re like the modern-day Ken and Barbie!

Best Bump-Hugging Dress: Kristin Cavallari
While E! had the fashion maven comment on everyone else’s red carpet style, I was in awe of Kristin’s Alexander McQueen gown that was truly fit for a goddess. The white confection hugged the soon-to-be mama of two‘s curves in all of the right places (especially her belly!), making her look feminine and flawless.

Olivia Wilde’s Maternity Leave Will be How Long?

Friday, February 14th, 2014

Pregnant actress Olivia Wilde plans on being a very busy working mom! Rather than taking a lengthy maternity leave, funnyman Jason Sudeikis’ fiancé is due with her first baby May 4, and according to the beauty is already set to start filming a very emotional psychological thriller in New York City in July. Olivia will play a very draining role as a mother whose son disappears.

Maternity leave is such a personal thing. Are you the type who wants to spend as much time as possible with your newborn, trading in vacation and sick days to add to your maternity leave? Or are you the type who needs to get back to work to get into your normal routine in order to feel like yourself, pursuing your work passions? Or have you decided you’re not going to return to work at all? The decision is yours to make. Clearly, Olivia found a role she is really excited about, and is ready to face the challenges of being a working mom with a newborn.

On the positive side, if she’s anything like I was post-baby, she will definitely have the ability to cry on demand. I was still so emotional, and anything remotely having to do with a baby being harmed, would put me in tears. As a new mom with your baby in your arms, you have a new perspective on life. Things that may not have seemed so emotional, suddenly are. The connection you have with your little one makes you want to have a better world for him or her to grow up in.

On the downside, what horrible pressure to put on yourself to lose the baby weight! Some people are super goal-oriented, so maybe Olivia is, and she needs a reason to get herself back in shape or she wouldn’t do it (um, guilty as charged!). But IMHO actresses have enough public body shaming to deal with, adding extra baby weight to that only makes Olivia’s job even more stressful.

She not only has to memorize her lines, and get into the mindset of her character, but she has to workout like a maniac too? (And keep in mind many doctors don’t want you to go back to your regular workout routine until after your six-week postpartum checkup.) That sounds like a lot for one sleep-deprived new mama to deal with, if you ask me (not that anyone did!).

TELL US: How much maternity leave will you be taking before returning to work after baby? Do you think Olivia’s rushing herself to lose the baby weight or do you think it’s good to set baby weight loss goals like she is?

Golden Globes Recap: Baby Bumps Ruled the Red Carpet!

Monday, January 13th, 2014

Yes, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were hilarious as the hosts of the Golden Globes. Yes, the always glam Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams all won coveted best actress trophies (best supporting for JLaw), but if you ask

me it was really the pregnant presenters who stole the show! Olivia Wilde stunned in a long-sleeved, emerald-green sequined Gucci gown, which she paired with an Emm Kuo clutch and Forevermark diamonds. While we were all oohing and awing over her, the self-deprecating star admitted, “Until about a week ago, I just looked fat!” she said. “I wanted to be like, ‘I’m not fat, I’m pregnant!’” (Um, I think we’ve all been there at one time or another!)

The soon-to-be first-time mom was absolutely giddy about all things baby. Not only did the loose-lipped star reveal she and fiancé Jason Sudeikis are having a boy (who was kicking her all the way down the red carpet!), but during an interview with Ryan Seacrest Olivia also spilled her son’s due date. The Star Wars fan says it’s easy for her to remember. All she has to say is, “May the fourth be with you.” That’s right—May 4—just one week before Mother’s Day. What a fab early Mom’s Day present!

But she wasn’t the only bumpilicious beauty of the night. The always perfectly-styled Kerry Washington did not disappoint her fashion fans. Decked out in a custom-made white Balenciaga gown, matching Balenciaga clutch, open-toed Casadei shoes and Fred Leighton jewels, she proudly announced, “I have the best date of the night, my little accessory here,” as she touched her growing belly.

And Drew Barrymore, who is pregnant with baby #2 and is due in late March/early April, wore a lovely Monique Lhuillier gown covered in floral appliqués, red Roger Vivier shoes, a sparkly Edie Parker clutch and jewelry by Chanel. She couldn’t thank her dress designer enough. “She’s making a pregnant lady feel really good right now,” Barrymore told E!  She then explained to People why she chose the dress in the first place, “It’s hearts and flowers and pink, all of my favorite things. When I saw it, I said, ‘It’s perfect.’ It’s comfortable and it’s easy—two very important things when you’re pregnant!”

Olivia, Kerry and Drew were looking so gorgeous that women were even commenting that they wanted to get pregnant just so they could look as beautiful as these ladies with their full, flowing locks and natural glows. It doesn’t get much better than that!

The Most Googled Celeb Pregnancy of 2013 Goes to…

Thursday, December 19th, 2013

Not so fast! Before I announce the winner, let’s recap the “nominees” aka all of the lovely pregnant stars of 2013 (well, most of them—there isn’t enough space or time to go over every single one of them but these are the highlights!).

In the newsmakers category we have Kate Middleton, who was the picture of perfection—period. Jessica Simpson was a boho goddess in major maxis. Though Kim Kardashian was often criticized for her fashion (and her pregnancy weight gain), I think she was graceful under pressure (that said, note to pregnant women everywhere: a head-to-toe, long sleeve, high-neck rose-patterned gown is not a good look—ever).

As for our favorite musicians, Shakira’s hips didn’t—and still don’t—lie. Even nine months pregnant, she was just as perky and petite as ever (how’d she do it?). Fergie was able to maintain her rocker edge from start to finale (I wanted an encore!). Gwen Stefani has been the master of (bump) disguise in fashion-forward staples any girl would die for (especially me!).

Then you have the sweet girl-next-door types who’ve melted our hearts with every interview or Twitter post about what it means to be a mom: Drew Barrymore (I am eating up every gushing word she utters!), Jennifer Love Hewitt (I wish your mom was still alive to see your adorable bump!), Kristen Bell (cuteoverload!), and Jenna Dewan-Tatum (who was one of the most stunning pregnant women ever! Am I right?).

And we can’t forget the mamas-to-be who just recently surprised us all with their pregnancy news: Kelly Clarkson (sending morning sickness-ending vibes your way, girl!), Olivia Wilde (the kid’s going to have looks and humor!), Ginnifer Goodwin (yes, I’m a little jealous! First, you had an on and off-screen fairytale romance, now you’re getting your happy ending!) and Kerry Washington (brains, beauty and unbelievable style!).

And the title for most Googled pregnant woman of 2013 goes to…drum roll, please! KIM KARDASHIAN! Now here’s the top 10 list of the most Googled pregnant babes of 2013 in descending order:

1. Kim Kardashian

2. Kate Middleton

3. Megan Fox

4. Shakira

5. Jessica Simpson

6. Halle Berry

7. Tamar Braxton

8. Olivia Wilde

9. Kerry Washington

10. Jennifer Love Hewitt
