Pregnancy sex can be a bit of a tug-of-war. Most men think it’s creepy to be getting it on when there’s a baby on board. Meanwhile, pregnant women’s hormones are at an all-time high, making their sex drives even greater than usual. While I was pregnant, I thought I finally knew what it would be like to be a man: I thought about sex all of the time!
Unfortunately for two pregnant celebrities it seems their husbands’ need to do the deed isn’t as strong when she’s with child. Kristen Cavallari recently told Fit Pregnancy that her football player husband, Jay Cutler, is weirded out by pregnancy sex. “Sex is funny when you’re pregnant,” said Kristin. “Guys get weird about it. I’m like, ‘Oh Jay, the baby’s kicking!’ and he’s like, not wanting to know about it.”
Her advice to women in the same boat? “It’s important for women to realize—if your guy is a little weirded out but isn’t good at expressing that, it can be isolating.” She also says that taking baths together and a little sexy lingerie can help smooth things over.
Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett can relate. In a recent blog for People, she confessed her hubby Hank Baskett has refused to have sex with her during the third trimester. In true TMI form, Kendra wrote: ‘I’m round, tired, grouchy, smelly and horny! Why would he want to touch me?!. When I cough, I either fart, pee or cramp!” Totally gross, but totally true! Lots of things become out of your control once you’re pregnant—including bodily functions.
But it’s not all bad news, ladies. Some men seem to get even more turned on when a woman is pregnant, like Dax Shepard, Kristen Bell’s husband. She said on an episode of Conan that he loved pregnancy sex because, “he felt like he was with a completely different woman.” She went on to say that it was like “legally cheating.” “I was also involved and he kind of got a freebie that didn’t hurt anybody’s feelings.”
And apparently Dax isn’t alone. Angelina Jolie told Entertainment Weekly that pregnancy sex is “great for the sex life. It just makes you a lot more creative so you have fun.” And Jessica Simpson confessed to Ryan Seacrest that when she’s pregnant her sex drive is unstoppable. “The Big O is, like, the biggest O ever,” she said (I agree that pregnancy sex can be some of the best sex ever: Read this).
Only time will tell how you, your body, and your baby daddy will feel about pregnancy sex throughout your pregnancy (it could change from trimester to trimester and your sex positions will likely need to change, too), but please promise me you’ll try to push negative thoughts out of your head about how big you’ve gotten and how if your guy isn’t into pregnancy sex, it’s because he doesn’t find you attractive. That is so not true! More often than not, the guy just feels like he and his enormous manlihood could somehow harm the baby, or that it’s the same as having sex in front of your kid after he or she’s born. So just talk to him, calm his fears, and get busy. You know you wanna!

Must Read, Who Is Pregnant
Monday, March 17th, 2014
Pop star Christina Aguilera went through a very public weight gain and weight loss last season on The Voice—recently dropping a whopping 35 pounds. While she is thrilled to be pregnant with a sibling for son, Max, 6, Life & Style is reporting that newly engaged Christina’s not so happy about gaining pregnancy weight after working so hard on her diet and exercise to shed her unwanted pounds. But whether she likes it or not, her newly svelte body is about to get curvy. It’s nature, baby!
Christina has always maintained that she loves her body at every size (as does fiancé Matt Rutler!), and that it’s important for women to be comfortable in their own skin—no matter what. Amen! But the media often makes that hard on women in general, and especially on pregnant women (Remember just weeks ago when Chris Hemsworth’s actress wife Elsa Pataky was fat-shamed on the Oscars red carpet?).
When you suddenly have a new body you don’t recognize in the mirror, it can be a shock, and you may even need an adjustment period to get used to the woman who is looking back at you. Your favorite clothes suddenly don’t fit, and as Kristin Cavallari recently admitted, when you’re pregnant “you can just feel gross.” On the flip side, though, you can feel the most beautiful and feminine you ever have with glowing skin and flowing locks. You are a baby-making goddess after all!
No woman can predict how she’s going to feel—or look—while pregnant. While one mama-to-be may be psyched to suddenly have a top-shelf rack, another may hate her pregnancy breasts (like Jamie-Lynn Sigler did). And the same goes for your butt. You may love the bodacious curves you get, or you may feel like you aren’t ready for that jelly. And that’s ok. There is an end to it all, and you will get your pre-pregnancy body back at some point (though it may forever look a tiny bit different).
When pregnant with son Max back in 2007, Christina gained 40 pounds while pregnant (that’s a little more than the recommended 25 to 35-pound pregnancy weight gain—but, hey, Beyoncé gained 65 pounds and look at her now!). So to insure she doesn’t gain too much this time around, Christina has reportedly hired a team of nutritionists and trainers to keep her on a super-healthy pregnancy path. Um, must be nice!
For the rest of us who can’t afford all of that, the best thing to do is to continue working out through your pregnancy (unless your doctor advises against it, of course). Regular exercise can fight against gestational diabetes, routine pregnancy aches and pains, and even mood swings. And bonus: A recent study says working out while pregnant can even make your baby smarter!

Healthy Pregnancy, Who Is Pregnant

Kerry Washington! The Scandal star wins Everything Pregnancy’s Preggy Award for the most stunning, effortlessly gorgeous mama-to-be. Where do I start? The Old Hollywood glamour of the half-up coif, the berry lips, the eye-catching eye makeup, subtle Jennifer Meyer sparkle, and a beautiful, belly-skimming Jason Wu gown in violet—it doesn’t get any better than Kerry!
Best Makeup: Olivia Wilde
The actress—who is set to go back to work two months after she delivers her baby—was positively polished as if she was channeling Audrey Hepburn in a simple-yet-chic black column Valentino gown, romantic updo and—the reason Olivia wins this category—amazing cat eyes. Meow!
Best Accessory: Elsa Pataky
And, no, I’m not talking about Elsa’s Graziela Gems earrings and blinged-out bracelet by Dana Rebecca Designs! Elsa is a gorgeous and glowing pregnant gal (who is carrying twins!), and she looks even better with her equally-hot hubby, Chris Hemsworth, by her side (but who wouldn’t?!). They’re like the modern-day Ken and Barbie!
Best Bump-Hugging Dress: Kristin Cavallari
While E! had the fashion maven comment on everyone else’s red carpet style, I was in awe of Kristin’s Alexander McQueen gown that was truly fit for a goddess. The white confection hugged the soon-to-be mama of two‘s curves in all of the right places (especially her belly!), making her look feminine and flawless.

Be Beautiful, Who Is Pregnant
Friday, January 31st, 2014
Whether you were a fan of Laguna Beach and The Hills or not (both were my guilty pleasures that I didn’t feel that guilty about watching!), you have to admit that Kristin Cavallari always looks effortlessly chic unlike most other MTV reality stars. Her beachy locks, golden glow, enviable wardrobe—it’s hard to believe she ever feels unsexy.
Well, the mom of 17-month-old Camden and soon-to-be baby #2 (with football hubby Jay Cutler), says when you’re pregnant “you just feel gross”. She told In Touch that she lives in leggings. “I need to get it together and maybe put in a little effort to feel better about myself.” Um, hello, leggings are a pregnant woman’s best friend. There’s no shame in that!
You need to embrace your baby-making inner goddess even when you get pregnancy acne, the frizzies, or pass a little gas (oops!). You’ve got a baby percolating in there, and that gives you a free pass on all of the not-so-glamorous parts that go along with the whole “miracle of childbirth” thing. Own it!
Kristin also confessed that she is tired…all the time! Welcome to the club! “It gets better after the first trimester, but it never really goes away,” she said. Cut yourself some slack, girl. Running around after one child—with a bump—and working too, that is absolutely exhausting. And from my perspective, you’re looking amazing while doing it!
You could use a pep talk from Drew Barrymore. Check out what she says about pregnancy self-esteem here.

Having trouble coming up with the perfect name for your little prince or princess? It’s a lot of pressure, right? You want a name you’ll love forever, that won’t embarrass your kid or get him or her teased, but something that’s different enough that there aren’t 10 of them in his or her class.
Well, the former Hills star turned shoe designer and hubby Jay Cutler did pretty well naming their first child without the help of a baby name book—Camden Jack Cutler (Camden was #156 on the national list of the most popular boys’ names in 2012). Now that she’s pregnant with her second, Kristin is sharing her tips on how to find the best fit for your child’s name:
Keep an open mind. You can find inspiration anywhere! Kristin and Jay don’t know whether their second baby will be a boy or a girl yet, so they’ve picked out names for each. “I saw the boy name in a magazine and I just liked it,” she shares. She found the girl name in the unlikeliest of places: a store clerk’s dog!
Sound it out. Don’t just pick names you like. Make sure the first and middle names go well with the baby’s last name. “We liked the way Camden Cutler sounded,” she said, “and we liked calling him Cam for short.”
Personalize it. They loved the name Camden the moment they heard it. But to make it have a family tie, they made Camden’s middle name Jack, “which is Jay’s dad’s name, so it has meaning,” Kristin explains.
Have a thick skin. You can’t make everyone happy! That’s why some people choose to keep their baby names a secret till the baby’s born, so they don’t have to hear people weigh in on whether they like the names or not. Kristin and Jay have told close friends and family their baby name contenders and have gotten “mixed reviews—and we don’t care!” she said with a laugh.
