I don’t know about you, but I shut my brain off around this time of year. All I want is a cup of spiked hot cocoa, a fire in the fireplace, the Mariah Carey holiday Pandora station—and a bunch of year-end fluff on the Internet. If you’re anything like me, I have a present for you: a list of the top 10 celebrity pregnancies of 2014! No, this list is not scientific in any way, and there’s no methodology to report. But there were sure a lot of pregnant stars who kept me entertained this year, and now seems like a plenty good time to reflect on their stories. So grab that mug of hot cocoa and come along with me for the fun of it, won’t you?
10. Kourtney Kardashian
What would any arbitrary list of celebrities be without a Kardashian? The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star just gave birth to her third child—a boy!—with boyfriend Scott Disick.
9. Jill Duggar
The 19 Kids and Counting star got pregnant almost immediately following her June wedding, announcing her pregnancy on August 20—even before the end of her first trimester. More time for us to follow the journey on Instagram, thank you very much!
8. Carrie Underwood
The country star shared her pregnancy announcement with her fans on social media on Labor Day, and has since shared us given us some totally relatable candid moments. Yes, we all know about pregnancy crying fits too, sister!
7. Eva Mendes
The star had a baby with epic dreamboat Ryan Gosling this year. Need we say more?! Sadly, we didn’t have too much time to track this celebrity pregnancy: Rumors only broke in the star’s final months of pregnancy.
6. Zoe Saldana
Completely the opposite of the Kardashian-style approach, this mama-to-be makes our list for the mystery surrounding her pregnancy (and now, quite possibly, birth!). She’s kept mostly quiet throughout… even though we have much reason to believe she’s having twins!
5. Alicia Keys
In a year of naked celebrity baby bump photos galore, we’re adding a star to the list for a belly-baring shot with an excellent cause: the singer’s own #wearehere movement for social justice.
4. Blake Lively
This gorgeous star makes our list for becoming nothing short of a maternity fashion icon from right out of the gate. We’re taking notes!
3. Mila Kunis
We had a lot of fun along with Ashton Kutcher’s future wife during her pregnancy, didn’t we? The outspoken star always had something conversation-sparking to say, from her remarks about epidurals, to that famous pregnancy rant!
2. Chelsea Clinton
A grandbaby for the presidential family! After being pregnant much 2014, the former first daughter delivered her daughter, Charlotte, in September.
1. Kate Middleton
What’s more exciting than another royal baby on the way? Although barely showing, the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting her second child with Prince William. As with Kate’s first pregnancy, the palace was forced to make the announcement early as the duchess suffered from acute morning sickness. And that early annoucnement gives us plenty of time to look forward with excitement to her expected April 2015 delivery!

Stars—they’re just like us! And that means that when there’s a baby on the way, they celebrate in a big way. Recently, Chelsea Clinton, Savannah Guthrie, Snooki, and Jwoww shared the details of their baby showers—how do they compare to your celebration?
They picked elaborate themes. Snooki’s shower featured a grand “Great Gatsby” theme, and she (and several other guests) sported fascinators and flapper-esque ensembles to fit with the party.
They invited the guys. Former President Bill Clinton and Chelsea’s husband Mark Mezvinsky both made appearances at Chelsea Clinton’s celebration.
They hired entertainment. Jwoww’s shower featured a drag queen emcee to keep the crowd entertained.
The gift opening happened elsewhere.Chelsea Clinton’s shower featured lots of celebrating, but the mom-to-be took home her bounty and opened the onesies and strollers in the privacy of her home.
They turned a “sprinkle” into a full-on fete. In the past, moms-to-be usually saved lavish showers for their first-born, with very small (or no) celebrations for future children. But perhaps Snooki’s part of a trend to celebrate every baby’s arrival. (And really, doesn’t every baby deserve a party?)
They planned a menu perfect for the mom-to-be. Chelsea Clinton’s gluten-free menu meant she could enjoy any of the goodies offered at the celebration.
They asked their guests to provide gifts for those who really need them. At Savannah Guthrie’s totally cute shower guests were asked to bring one book for her baby, and one to be donated for those who may have a harder time stocking their bookshelves. Because let’s face facts: Savannah can probably swing a pretty nice stroller.

Politicos, rejoice! Former First Daughter, Chelsea Clinton, has declared 2014 “The Year of the Baby,” which means we could hear the pitter-patter of some politically-minded little feet very soon. Chelsea told Glamour that the loss of her maternal grandmother in late 2011 spurred her to have some deep discussions with her husband, Marc Mezvinsky—including when they would start a family (may we suggest starting this November?). The two, who have been married for three years now, have decided next year is their year. Woo-hoo!
No one could be happier about the baby news than former Secretary of State (and rumored frontrunner for the 2016 Democratic Presidential nominee), mom Hillary Rodham Clinton. She can’t wait to be a grandmother! “She asks about it every single day,” Chelsea tells the magazine. Who could blame her? Babies are so cute, and as a grandmother you get to reap all of the benefits of cuteness without all of the everyday responsibilities of parenthood.
Since leaving her job on Wall Street, Chelsea has been working along with her parents, Hillary and former President Bill Clinton on the family’s foundation, the Clinton Global Initiative, trying to make a real difference. “For when we do have children, I want to help make sure we’ve got a world I want them to live in,” she explains.
What a lucky baby to be brought into such a legal and political dynasty. I can’t help but wonder what sort of grandparents Bill and Hillary will make. I feel like Hillary will be the disciplinarian of the two (fair, but strong with a little wiggle room for all-out spoiling), where Bill will be sneaking Little Clinton an extra cookie when no one else is looking, and playing jazz, teaching him or her about “real music” in between family-wide chats around the dinner table on current events. The big question is, will Bill pass down his nickname of “Bubba” to the new bundle. I vote yes, but Chelsea may have something to say about that!
TELL US: Do you think Bill and Hillary will make good grandparents?
