Hip-hop radio stations and blogs are blowing up with news that Beyoncé is working overtime, having filmed four (yes, four!) music videos in the past two months in order to have the videos—shot in Miami, New York, London and Paris—roll out to promote her upcoming album while she focuses on getting pregnant and taking maternity leave next year. A cootie patootie sibling for Blue Ivy!? Yes, please!
Sure, we’ve heard false Bey pregnancy rumors before, but this could be legit (fingers and toes crossed!). The Queen B is a total professional, and a bit Type-A, so it makes perfect sense that she would want to do the responsible thing and support her album even if she was taking time off for mommy duty part deux.
After all, she told Good Morning America in May: “I would like more children. I think my daughter needs some company. I definitely love being a big sister. At some point, when it’s supposed to happen [it will],” the Grammy-winning singer said with a smile. So it sounds like it’s supposed to happen next year!
She also shared in her HBO documentary, Beyoncé: Life is But a Dream just how much she loved being pregnant, describing it as “falling in love.” “You are so open,” she said. “You are so overjoyed. There are no words that can express having a baby growing inside of you.”
But Mrs. Carter hasn’t had the easiest road to motherhood. She famously revealed in the same doc that she had a miscarriage before having daughter Blue Ivy. “I was pregnant for the first time, and I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life,” she said. “I picked out names. I envisioned what my child would look like, I was feeling very maternal.”
Then she flew back to New York to get a check up, and “no heartbeat,” she said. “Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was fine…it was the saddest thing I’ve ever been through.” She explains that’s why she was so hush-hush about her second pregnancy with Blue Ivy, “because you don’t know what’s going to happen.”
I really hope for Beyoncé and Jay-Z that this news is true (for once!), because they both seem like the most doting parents on the planet, and Baby B would make such an adorable big sis.
TELL US: Do you think it’s true Beyoncé is getting ahead with work so she can take maternity leave next year?

Who doesn’t love a baby shower? Girl talk, cute gifts, tasty bites, fun games, and you are—or someone you love is—about to have a cutie patootie! Jennifer Love Hewitt’s friends and family feted her with a super-chic baby shower this weekend at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles. Since she and her fiancé (also one of her co-stars on The Client List), Brian Hallisay, want to be surprised by the baby’s sex, and will be waiting till the birth to find out whether they’re the proud parents of a boy or girl, it was a gender-neutral shower.
Celebrity party planner to the stars, Mindy Weiss, designed the buzz-worthy color scheme of black, yellow and white, and JLH—who is due in December—was positively glowing in a matching yellow strapless maxi. Here are three important lessons you can steal from her big day for your or a friend’s shower.
• Make your décor do double duty. Jennifer’s shower had a cute clothesline of onesies as part of the shower’s décor (The shower for Glee’s Heather Morris did something similar with a onesie decorating station, where the finished products were hung on a clothesline). You could also fill up baby bottles with various candies at a candy bar that the mom can use once the baby is born. That way you’re not spending money on pricy decorative items that will just go in the trash after the party.
• You don’t have to have chi-chi h’ors deuvres to impress the guests—everyone loves comfort food. Jennifer’s shower served the mama-to-be’s favorite bites like bruschetta, mini pizzas, and custom baby-faced cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcakes (Jennifer recently admitted cupcakes have been her biggest craving!).
• Favors should have a personal touch. Jennifer’s guests created their own fragrance at a scent bar (what a fun idea, right?), then on their way out they were given chocolate chip cookies in black-and-white striped bags (to match the color theme) with bottles of milk. What a sweet prezzie—literally!

Let the bump watch begin! She may not be pregnant yet, but Drew Barrymore would like to change that—stat. While on The Tonight Show, the most lovable actress in Hollywood told Jay Leno that she would like to give 1-year-old daughter Olive siblings “very much, right away.” She explained why in a recent InStyle cover story. “I was an only child, and it was lonely,” she told the magazine. “Some people love it and thrive on the independence, but I want my kids to have other kids around, so they can run around life together, roll their eyes at their parents together like Rusty and Audrey Griswold from [National Lampoon's] Vacation.”
Well, one thing is for sure: However many kids Drew has with hubby Will Kopelman, they will all be lucky to have the super-cool triple threat (actress, producer and director) as a mom. Drew—who calls motherhood “a lot of pride and a lot of nervousness”—described herself to Harper’s Bazaar as “a real stay-at-home mom. I’m really hands-on. [After having Olive] everything else became secondary.”
Everything Drew does, she does big. She likes wine; she turned it into a business, producing Barrymore Pinot Grigio. She loves makeup; she now has her own line, Flower Beauty. And I’m guessing Drew loves kids more than both of those things put together, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she ends up having a whole roller derby team (yes, that was a Whip It reference! Best. Drew Barrymore Movie. Ever. After Never Been Kissed, and just before the Charlie’s Angels movies.)

Politicos, rejoice! Former First Daughter, Chelsea Clinton, has declared 2014 “The Year of the Baby,” which means we could hear the pitter-patter of some politically-minded little feet very soon. Chelsea told Glamour that the loss of her maternal grandmother in late 2011 spurred her to have some deep discussions with her husband, Marc Mezvinsky—including when they would start a family (may we suggest starting this November?). The two, who have been married for three years now, have decided next year is their year. Woo-hoo!
No one could be happier about the baby news than former Secretary of State (and rumored frontrunner for the 2016 Democratic Presidential nominee), mom Hillary Rodham Clinton. She can’t wait to be a grandmother! “She asks about it every single day,” Chelsea tells the magazine. Who could blame her? Babies are so cute, and as a grandmother you get to reap all of the benefits of cuteness without all of the everyday responsibilities of parenthood.
Since leaving her job on Wall Street, Chelsea has been working along with her parents, Hillary and former President Bill Clinton on the family’s foundation, the Clinton Global Initiative, trying to make a real difference. “For when we do have children, I want to help make sure we’ve got a world I want them to live in,” she explains.
What a lucky baby to be brought into such a legal and political dynasty. I can’t help but wonder what sort of grandparents Bill and Hillary will make. I feel like Hillary will be the disciplinarian of the two (fair, but strong with a little wiggle room for all-out spoiling), where Bill will be sneaking Little Clinton an extra cookie when no one else is looking, and playing jazz, teaching him or her about “real music” in between family-wide chats around the dinner table on current events. The big question is, will Bill pass down his nickname of “Bubba” to the new bundle. I vote yes, but Chelsea may have something to say about that!

Who Is Pregnant

Actress and momtrepreneur Tia Mowry-Hardict may always seem upbeat and über-positive, but she went through a very dark period when she was struggling with infertility. The cause? Endometriosis, which is an abnormal growth of cells from the lining of your uterus that appear outside of the uterine cavity. It can be painful and cause fertility issues. Now, 35, Tia was diagnosed with Endometriosis at 27, and underwent two surgeries and a major lifestyle change before getting pregnant with son, Cree, now 2.
Tia shares her experiences with Endometriosis, as well as some smart pregnancy tips all moms-to-be can learn from.
Due to your Endometriosis diagnosis, you had two surgeries and were told you needed a third. Was there ever a point where you thought you wouldn’t be able to have kids?
Yes, despite my diagnosis I still wanted to try and have a baby, but not being able to have kids was an immediate fear. It made me feel out of control. I knew that I desperately wanted to have children and after speaking with a nutritionist that came recommended by my doctor, I was reassured that with the right eating habits and lifestyle changes (no sugar, no carbs!), I would have a better possibility of getting pregnant. I started to see a light at the end of the tunnel. I became extremely health conscious, changed my diet, and I think those changes helped with ultimately getting pregnant.
Now that you are a mom, what do you wish you could tell your pregnant self about all of the fears you had about being a mom?
The baby is going to come when he/she is ready and it’s really important to let nature take its course. There’s only so much we can control, like vitamins, exercise etc…but when all is said and done, the baby will come out however he/she is meant to come out. You have to be ok with that.
What were you most excited about when you were pregnant?
I was most excited about seeing my baby (and my belly) grow.
What were you most scared of?
Natural childbirth! And like any mom I was anxious about making sure my baby was healthy.
What was the best piece of advice you received while pregnant?
Sleep while you can!
How did you get through the not-so-fun parts of pregnancy? Any tips for moms-to-be?
For the nausea that comes with morning sickness, what really, really helped me were seasickness bands. You wear them and they work on a pressure point that deals with seasickness. For exhaustion, listen to your body. When you’re tired, rest. Don’t try to be superwoman. But also don’t be afraid to exercise when your’re feeling up to it. My advice for women struggling with stretch marks would be to use Stretchy by needbrands.com, a line of products I launched with my sister Tamera.
Why did you two decide to launch your own line for pregnant women, moms and babies?
We felt that there were certain products that didn’t exist out there that we absolutely could have used during our own pregnancies. So, if there was a need on our end, there must be other moms out there looking for the same types of things. Milky—an herbal tea supplement to help boost the quality and quantity of your breast milk—is important because it is a need (no pun intended). It’s quick, convenient, affordable, natural and tasty. Next up, we’re looking to have six more products in stores at Destination Maternity nationwide by January 2014, that focus on the needs of moms (during and post pregnancy) babies, infants and toddlers.
Was it hard to be a working mom-to-be?
It was really challenging. The hardest thing was hiding my pregnancy for the first two months. When you’re working on a set, it can be extremely hard. I found myself running to the bathroom several times with morning sickness
, but had to tell those around me that I had gastro-intestinal issues. I’d also fall asleep in between takes. I didn’t really deal with mommy brain until after
I had Cree. I went to the grocery store once and left my car running the whole time! I found the best way of working through all of the absent mindedness was to write everything down.
You have your series of yoga DVDs. How do you think yoga can help pregnant women?
Yoga opens up parts of the body that otherwise stay shut down, and it helps with breathing techniques, which are vital to the childbirth process. Yoga also helped me lose weight post-baby but it’s important to remember that it deals with more emotional and spiritual weight than physical. Yoga combined with cardio and weight training is ideal. I gained 60 pounds when I was pregnant and it took two years to get back to where I was pre-pregnancy.
On Instant Mom you fall in love and you’re suddenly a step-mom of three. What tips have you learned from your character that you can share with other moms with newly blended families?
Even though you are a step-mom, it doesn’t mean that you can’t be a mom to the children. A mom is someone who nurtures and loves, and shares responsibilities with the rest of the caretakers in the family. Having kids is a blessing.
Tia Mowry-Hardrict’s new show, Instant Mom, debuts Sunday, Sept 29, at 8:30 p.m. on Nick at Nite, then airs again at 10:30 p.m. on Nick Jr. The third season of her reality show Tia & Tamera premieres on E! Tuesday, Oct 15, at 9 p.m. And her Need products are available at Destination Maternity.
