Having trouble coming up with the perfect name for your little prince or princess? It’s a lot of pressure, right? You want a name you’ll love forever, that won’t embarrass your kid or get him or her teased, but something that’s different enough that there aren’t 10 of them in his or her class.
Well, the former Hills star turned shoe designer and hubby Jay Cutler did pretty well naming their first child without the help of a baby name book—Camden Jack Cutler (Camden was #156 on the national list of the most popular boys’ names in 2012). Now that she’s pregnant with her second, Kristin is sharing her tips on how to find the best fit for your child’s name:
Keep an open mind. You can find inspiration anywhere! Kristin and Jay don’t know whether their second baby will be a boy or a girl yet, so they’ve picked out names for each. “I saw the boy name in a magazine and I just liked it,” she shares. She found the girl name in the unlikeliest of places: a store clerk’s dog!
Sound it out. Don’t just pick names you like. Make sure the first and middle names go well with the baby’s last name. “We liked the way Camden Cutler sounded,” she said, “and we liked calling him Cam for short.”
Personalize it. They loved the name Camden the moment they heard it. But to make it have a family tie, they made Camden’s middle name Jack, “which is Jay’s dad’s name, so it has meaning,” Kristin explains.
Have a thick skin. You can’t make everyone happy! That’s why some people choose to keep their baby names a secret till the baby’s born, so they don’t have to hear people weigh in on whether they like the names or not. Kristin and Jay have told close friends and family their baby name contenders and have gotten “mixed reviews—and we don’t care!” she said with a laugh.

It looks like actress Ginnifer Goodwin is getting her fairytale ending after all! First the Once Upon a Time star, who plays Snow White, found love on set with her on-and-off-screen Prince Charming, Josh Dallas. Then they became engaged last month, and now the adorable couple confirms a baby is on the way!
Fashion-forward Ginnifer had been wearing loose-fitting clothes and bulky jackets for weeks, sparking baby rumors. But Ginnifer has had babies on the brain for quite a while! She told InStyle UK back in 2010—when she was engaged to actor Joey Kern—that she has always wanted a big family. “I want three or five children, but I need a bigger house or a smaller closet!” she joked. So it sounds like this baby is not going to be alone for long!
Let the bump watch begin! I can’t wait to see what amazing designers that belly is going to be donning!
PS Could there be something in the water at ABC that’s getting everyone pregnant? First, Kerry Washington from Scandal’s pregnancy was announced, then Daphne Oz from The Chew, and now Ginnifer! Who will be next? My bet is on Hayden Panettiere from Nashville!

Kelly Clarkson has finally confirmed what we’ve all been waiting for via Twitter: “I’m pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever.” A big congrats to my all-time favorite American Idol!
Believe it or not: Kelly says she never wanted to be a mom. But all that changed when she met the love of her life, Brandon Blackstock (who has two kids from a previous relationship). While everyone presumed Kelly’s recent slim down was to look good in her wedding pictures, Kelly told Taste of Country it was actually baby-making prep. “It’s all about making my body the most healthy inside out. And I’m reading all these books,” she said.
Ever since she and Brandon got married a month ago in Tennessee, having a baby is pretty much all the singer has talked about! “I want babies!” the newlywed declared in a radio interview on Oct. 30. ”Everybody keeps saying, ‘What do you want for Christmas?’ And I’m like, ‘I want to be pregnant.’”
She continued the baby talk on Jay Leno on Nov. 11. Though Jay pressed her on whether she was pregnant, Kelly wasn’t ready to make her big announcement—only telling the talk show host, “[We want a baby] like now! Practice makes perfect! We’re trying, trying, trying. I never wanted kids before, but now I want, like, five.”
I’m so happy for Kelly, and I love that she told her devoted fans first! She is the most down-to-earth celebrity, and is going to be the cutest pregnant woman ever. You know she’s going to have one rockin’ baby shower too! I can’t wait for more details!

While it hasn’t even been five months since North West was born, and we haven’t even gotten our fill of her adorable cheeks yet (don’t you just want to squeeze them?!), it seems she’s going to have to share the spotlight with another Kimye baby sooner than expected. According to Us Weekly’s exclusive, Kim and fiancé Kanye West would like to get pregnant with baby #2 this summer—wait for it!—after they get married in what is sure to be the craziest, most extravagant wedding in history (um, fighter jets—really, Kanye?)!
Not that anyone asked me, but I’m all for another cutie to ooh and aww over! These two know how to make ‘em! Just look at little baby North!
The magazine’s source says that Kim has always wanted her kids to be close in age (which makes sense—she and Kourtney are only 18 months apart), and Kanye—who is an only child—is said to want a huge family.
So start placing your bets on the next baby’s name now. We’re already hearing rumblings of South West!

Two months of bed rest may sound like a lovely spa vacation—unless it’s in a hospital, under doctor’s orders, and you’re having scary pregnancy complications. In that case, it can be total hell, according to Tori Spelling, whose new book Spelling It Like It Is describes her 50+ days of hospital bed rest when she was pregnant with her fourth child, Finn.
She told E! News, “I was flat on my back. I wasn’t allowed to even get up to walk in the halls. My bathroom privileges would be taken away. I wasn’t allowed to shower. Everything was stripped from you.”
And keep in mind she was in a hospital room that she describes as tiny, where she was only able to see daylight a little bit each day. Sounds more like a prison cell, right? So does Tori’s feelings of freedom when she finally got to leave the hospital. “I was like, ‘I appreciate the sunlight. I appreciate the warmth on my skin,’” she said.
Tori’s “lock up” was thanks to being diagnosed with a serious condition called placenta previa, which is when the placenta grows over the cervix, and often blocks the baby’s exit from the uterus during delivery. Placenta previa occurs in one in 200 pregnancies and can result in heavy bleeding, a danger for mom and baby. It can happen to anyone, but occurs most often in women who are pregnant with multiples or for the second or third time, who smoke or use drugs, who are older than 35, or who have had a C-section (At the time, Tori was over 35, on her fourth pregnancy, and had already undergone three Cesarean sections). Tori also became pregnant with Finn just one month after giving birth to daughter Hattie, which could have complicated things further.
Though Tori’s pregnancy with Finn was a struggle (to say the least!), there was a happy ending—he was delivered at 37 weeks and is a completely healthy 14 month old!
