Having trouble coming up with the perfect name for your little prince or princess? It’s a lot of pressure, right? You want a name you’ll love forever, that won’t embarrass your kid or get him or her teased, but something that’s different enough that there aren’t 10 of them in his or her class.
Well, the former Hills star turned shoe designer and hubby Jay Cutler did pretty well naming their first child without the help of a baby name book—Camden Jack Cutler (Camden was #156 on the national list of the most popular boys’ names in 2012). Now that she’s pregnant with her second, Kristin is sharing her tips on how to find the best fit for your child’s name:
Keep an open mind. You can find inspiration anywhere! Kristin and Jay don’t know whether their second baby will be a boy or a girl yet, so they’ve picked out names for each. “I saw the boy name in a magazine and I just liked it,” she shares. She found the girl name in the unlikeliest of places: a store clerk’s dog!
Sound it out. Don’t just pick names you like. Make sure the first and middle names go well with the baby’s last name. “We liked the way Camden Cutler sounded,” she said, “and we liked calling him Cam for short.”
Personalize it. They loved the name Camden the moment they heard it. But to make it have a family tie, they made Camden’s middle name Jack, “which is Jay’s dad’s name, so it has meaning,” Kristin explains.
Have a thick skin. You can’t make everyone happy! That’s why some people choose to keep their baby names a secret till the baby’s born, so they don’t have to hear people weigh in on whether they like the names or not. Kristin and Jay have told close friends and family their baby name contenders and have gotten “mixed reviews—and we don’t care!” she said with a laugh.

Girl! The Client List star and costar hubby (yes, they had a secret wedding!) Brian Hallisay welcomed daughter Autumn James Hallisay on Tuesday, November 26. The fact that the couple had a girl was as much of a surprise to them as it is for us! The pair decided they didn’t want to find out the baby’s sex in advance. Instead, they’d just wait till they met him or her.
At a Pampers event in New York City in August, the ex-Party of Five star revealed why she was willing to wait to find out what she was having: “It’s one of life’s greatest surprises and we wanted to keep it that way,” she said. Two months later, she had a gender-neutral yellow and black baby shower surrounded by friends and family.
Though her pregnancy wasn’t always easy, Jennifer told E! News that she fully embraced every minute of it—including the bad parts. “Your body goes through a lot of changes. You feel a lot of things hormonally,” she said. “There are surges, there are aches, there are pains, there’s swelling—there’s all of that stuff. But it’s all really beautiful because it’s for a purpose.”
Yes, indeed, it’s important to see the “beauty” in everything while you’re pregnant. Otherwise, at times, it might be too much to bear! So take a note from Jennifer’s pregnancy playbook and relax and enjoy the ride!

It looks like actress Ginnifer Goodwin is getting her fairytale ending after all! First the Once Upon a Time star, who plays Snow White, found love on set with her on-and-off-screen Prince Charming, Josh Dallas. Then they became engaged last month, and now the adorable couple confirms a baby is on the way!
Fashion-forward Ginnifer had been wearing loose-fitting clothes and bulky jackets for weeks, sparking baby rumors. But Ginnifer has had babies on the brain for quite a while! She told InStyle UK back in 2010—when she was engaged to actor Joey Kern—that she has always wanted a big family. “I want three or five children, but I need a bigger house or a smaller closet!” she joked. So it sounds like this baby is not going to be alone for long!
Let the bump watch begin! I can’t wait to see what amazing designers that belly is going to be donning!
PS Could there be something in the water at ABC that’s getting everyone pregnant? First, Kerry Washington from Scandal’s pregnancy was announced, then Daphne Oz from The Chew, and now Ginnifer! Who will be next? My bet is on Hayden Panettiere from Nashville!

Kelly Clarkson has finally confirmed what we’ve all been waiting for via Twitter: “I’m pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever.” A big congrats to my all-time favorite American Idol!
Believe it or not: Kelly says she never wanted to be a mom. But all that changed when she met the love of her life, Brandon Blackstock (who has two kids from a previous relationship). While everyone presumed Kelly’s recent slim down was to look good in her wedding pictures, Kelly told Taste of Country it was actually baby-making prep. “It’s all about making my body the most healthy inside out. And I’m reading all these books,” she said.
Ever since she and Brandon got married a month ago in Tennessee, having a baby is pretty much all the singer has talked about! “I want babies!” the newlywed declared in a radio interview on Oct. 30. ”Everybody keeps saying, ‘What do you want for Christmas?’ And I’m like, ‘I want to be pregnant.’”
She continued the baby talk on Jay Leno on Nov. 11. Though Jay pressed her on whether she was pregnant, Kelly wasn’t ready to make her big announcement—only telling the talk show host, “[We want a baby] like now! Practice makes perfect! We’re trying, trying, trying. I never wanted kids before, but now I want, like, five.”
I’m so happy for Kelly, and I love that she told her devoted fans first! She is the most down-to-earth celebrity, and is going to be the cutest pregnant woman ever. You know she’s going to have one rockin’ baby shower too! I can’t wait for more details!

As women, we’re hard enough on ourselves as it is. Being pregnant—when we should be in total bliss—can make it even harder. Instead of focusing on how amazing it is that we’re bringing a baby into this world, it’s easy to concentrate more on the little annoyances that come along with the baby, like having none of our favorite clothes fit anymore! Yes, your belly and your butt are now out to there. Big deal, says Drew Barrymore! “You’re not supposed to look perfect while you’re making babies—making babies is the perfection,” the oh-so-wise Drew told Women’s Health. “There’s just no such thing as perfection. So if you’re trying to get there, you’re just torturing yourself.”
Take it from Drew (whose pregnant with a sibling for 13-month-old daughter, Olive), and don’t beat yourself up when you’re having an ugly day (we all have them!). You may get pregnancy acne or the frizzies, feel bloated, or not know how to dress this new body of yours. When that happens, remind yourself that you’re a mom-to-be and that’s a very beautiful thing.
Actress and entrepreneur Drew wears many hats, but she feels that being a mom is her most important job ever. “Being a mom is first,” she says. “That’s now No. 1.” For many women, that’s how it is as soon as they find out their pregnant . But before he or she arrives, take time out for yourself and do some pampering—you’re worth it. The happier and healthier you are, the happier and healthier you’re baby on board will be. If a new haircut or new outfit is what it takes to make you feel better, go for it! It may seem a little superficial, but trust me (and Drew), self-esteem goes a long way to get you through your pregnancy!
