Pouring Rain

Thursday, June 19th, 2014

It was a rainy day. My son asked, “Mommy, why is it raining so much?” I told him that the ground was really thirsty, so it needs to drink a lot of water. He replied, ” Well I hope it puts on a pull-up before nap time or he will wet his bed.” Gotta love the newly potty trained!

Dressed for the Weather

Friday, May 16th, 2014

Living in Southern California, we wear short sleeves most of the time. One day, we had a cold spell so I put a long-sleeved shirt on my son. He held out his arms, examining them closely for some time. Then he turned to me and announced, “It’s arm pants!”

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Thursday, May 15th, 2014

There had been an unusual amount of rain recently. On the way home from preschool one day, my daughter looked out the sunroof window and said, “The clouds sure have been taking a lot of tinkle breaks!”

Cleaning Time

Wednesday, April 16th, 2014

My son and I were headed to his grandmother’s house one foggy morning. As we were walking to the car, Alex said to me, “Look at all this dust! What a mess! Mommy, we have to clean this up.”

Hail Storm

Monday, April 7th, 2014

My 7-year-old daughter, Adira, looked out the window and commented, “It’s hail.” From her bed, my 3-year-old agreed, “Yes, it’s kale.” Then she thought for a moment before adding, “But not real kale.”
