I was about to serve my three sons carrots with hummus. I sprinkled sesame seeds on top of the hummus too. My 5-year-old shouted to his siblings, “Who wants to try the sesame streets?”

Frozen Food

One afternoon, I was canning and freezing vegetables when my son asked what I was doing. I told him that the sweet corn was in season now and that I was going to freeze it for winter. He asked seriously, “Why do we need that much corn? Are we going to hibernate all winter?”

Not-So-Super Appetite

My son has always been a picky eater. After months of struggling to negotiate with him at meals, I said, “Honey, do you think Spider-Man’s mom has to beg him to eat every night?” He responded, “Mom, I seriously doubt Spider-Man still lives with his mommy!”
