Unsung Hero

One day after waking from his nap, my son looked at me and said, “Mommy, I’m a boy.” I agreed, and asked him what I am. He smiled and said, “You’re a girl.” When I asked what his father is, he thought for a moment before responding confidently, “Daddy is Spider-Man!”

Be Prepared

Every morning, my son takes his backpack with him to his Head Start Program. I wondered what was inside, so one day I unzipped it and found his Spider-Man costume. When I asked him why he was bringing it, he replied, “Just in case there is trouble!”

Not-So-Super Appetite

My son has always been a picky eater. After months of struggling to negotiate with him at meals, I said, “Honey, do you think Spider-Man’s mom has to beg him to eat every night?” He responded, “Mom, I seriously doubt Spider-Man still lives with his mommy!”
