Hard to Impress

Tuesday, March 11th, 2014

It snowed overnight, so the ground was blanketed in white. I was excited for my daughter to see her first real snowfall, so I brought her to the window. She gasped, in what I thought was great wonderment—until she exclaimed, “What a mess!”

Winter Frost

Wednesday, March 5th, 2014

We live in Florida, so I was surprised when we recently had temperatures below freezing. I excitedly showed my daughter the frost on the grass in our yard. She ran inside and called, “Daddy! Come see the frosting on the grass!”

Cold as Ice

Friday, February 21st, 2014

My daughter came home from preschool with a picture she’d drawn of an igloo. She explained that it was a house made from snow and ice. When we asked her what kind of people live in an igloo, she responded, “Hot people.”

Case of the Mondays

Monday, January 6th, 2014

We live in a very snowy part of the country. It was the third stormy Monday when my son asked, “Does Mother Nature hate Mondays as much as the rest of us?”
