Pins and Needles

Wednesday, July 9th, 2014

My son loves books and especially loves to read while sitting on the potty. After several books and many, many minutes, he was ready to get up, but of course his feet had fallen asleep. He stood and started stomping them. He said, “Help, Mom! My feet have sprinkles on them and I can’t get them off!”

Crazy Hair

Monday, July 7th, 2014

My son was looking at the author photo of Shel Silverstein on the jacket of The Giving Tree. In the picture, he is bald with a full mustache and beard. Benny exclaimed, “Look Mommy, Shel Silverstein cut off all his hair and made a mustache!”

Poor Tree

Thursday, February 6th, 2014

We were reading The Giving Tree one evening.  When we came to the page where the tree tells the boy that she doesn’t have any money, Carsyn laughed and said, “The tree doesn’t have money because she doesn’t have any pockets.”
