Ask For Directions

Thursday, July 17th, 2014

My niece and I were driving to a party, and I had the GPS on to help with directions. I asked Bianca to be quiet for a little bit so I could hear the GPS voice tell me when to turn. Bianca whispered from the backseat, “Where does the GPS lady actually live?”

Full Speed Ahead

Thursday, May 1st, 2014

My daughter was riding in her grandmother’s car when she noticed a small religious statue on the dashboard. Her grandmother explained that the saint would protect them so they wouldn’t drive too fast or get in an accident. After a moment, Kate asked her to take it down. She explained, “I want to go fast and I don’t want him to stop us!”

Look Out

Wednesday, April 30th, 2014

While driving down the road, my son asked what the different road signs meant. I explained that the sign with the deer meant to watch for deer crossing the road and the sign with the tractor meant to watch for tractors crossing the road. When we passed a no parking sign, my son yelled out, “Watch out for the letters crossing the road, Daddy!”

When we’re driving in the car, my daughter likes to follow our path on the GPS. And when we start getting even remotely near our destination, she will announce, “Hey guys. We have reached our destiny!”
